Israel Adesanya should be in the first place, not Jorge Masvidal! - He beat Anderson Silva. Okay Silva is a has been but Adesanya is not even trying cuz he respect Silva. - War against Gastelum. Gastelum supposed to fight for the belt against whittaker before he fights Adesanya, but Whittaker pulled out. Kelvin is a strong opponent, he beat top contenders to earn his spot. This fight shows that Adesanya got that champion's heart. -Dominated Whittaker. NOBODY has dominated Whittaker like that on middleweight. The man was on 8 fight winning streak and fought 10 full rounds against Yoel fucking Romero. While Jorge Masvidal? - Beat Darren Till, which is a good fighter. But Till got a controversial win against Stephen Thompson and lost the fight against Woodley, the current champion at that time. - Knocked Ben Askren out. This one is pretty impressive because of the 5 seconds KO. But Ben is untested in the UFC. He fought against Robbie Lawler and got battered before he won with controversial decision. - Beat Nate Diaz. Let's be real, Nate diaz is a B level fighter. When he face real opponent (RDA, Benson Henderson, Josh Thompson, etc.) he got dominated. Sure Nate beats McGregor, but on 170 pounds which is not McGregor's division at that time (Conor did a massive weight jump from 145 to 170). The point is both of them is a savage, but Adesanya's opponent is slightly better than Jorge's.

You also forgot that Jorge had been out for 1 year and went from a nobody to a superstar(from the casuals perspective). That's gotta mean something. I love both guys so I don't give a fuck who wins lmaoo

I do think that Adesanya will win the Fighter of the Year at the World MMA Awards. Though I'd like to add: - Darren Till defeated Kelvin Gastelum, welterweight probably is not the ideal weightclass for him Masvidal still knocked him out - Also Ben Askren has fought top level opponents before like Douglas Lima who defeated Rory MacDonald *disclaimer: MMA math doesn't work that's one of the reasons I love this sport.
