Correct me if I’m wrong, but the UFC and WEC had not merged in 2011 yet. So the other great light weights Pettis , Henderson, Cowboy we’re still WEC. This was the 2 best light weights by far at that time. If I’m off on this time wise correct me. Either way a time of credit needs to go to Bellator for this. I wish they still allowed cross promotions like they did during the pride days. You know, to see what’s what. I’d bet money knowing guys like Conor, Game bred, Jon Jones , Nate that are always looking to build their brand and always looking to prove who they are would take a one fight deal to fight their best. Chandler came over and has done outstanding. Yes losing twice, but to the top two lightweights. Can you imagine Gatheje fight Pitbull in the round cage? Or Yaro fighting Usman in the octagon. I could go on and on. We need a BMF belt between promotions. 1 year tournament bracket of the top 4 in each weight class in both promotions of champions. Do this every 4 years. I bet it’s ALOT more interesting than some would think and the PPV $$. Plus it would end this shit show in boxing. Thoughts?

Ufc always had a lightweight division. They added flyweight and bantamweight when they acquired the wec. If I remember correctly the best lightweights in the ufc at the time of this fight was Frankie Edgar and bj Penn.
