Glad I found a channel modding the exact caar I have. I already put an intake on and removed the "suitcase muffler." Gonna throw some Bilstein lowering dampers with h&r springs and get my fitment right. Then it'll be perfect for me. You are right about the rarity. My dealer enjoys seeing (hearing) my car. Last time I was there they told be they only sold 3 3.6s ever at their dealer that weren't GT's. And they only sold 5 of those.

Exactly!! They’re pretty damn rare and every vw dealer gets so excited to see them! But there you go man! Lowering springs are sometimes better than coils so good call on that one! And yes!! I’ve never seen another channel with a v6 passat on it so it worked out perfectly I thought

Glad to see I'm not the only one modding the snot out of the NMS Passat. I'm mostly done with my project PT, so now I am working on wifeys 2.5 SE. I have some chinese LED tails and projector headlights coming. I have already retrofitted front fogs, done a debadged grill. I am going to retrofit a rear fog light since we'll be shipping it to the UK in a few years too and this model is only China/USA. I am trying to convince wifey to let me to a double din replacement with backup cam too. I haven't posted a lot of Passat mods on my IG yet, but if you wanna see some of the PT mods and some Passat stuff take a look, it's 'junktardis'

Ayyy you are not the only one! I thought I was until I posted passat videos and everyone starting commenting about it. I was shocked haha but definitely do whatever you can to your wife’s passat they are fun to modify. Chinese products can be tough and I had bad luck with custom DRL’s twice but they can be pretty good at times and for great prices so I hope it all goes well. I would love to see passat stuff I’ll definitely check it out!! Also a radio replacement is key. Apple CarPlay is the option to go with and hopefully you get her on board it’ll change her life!

Great Video Brother. 31 years old, just bought my first car, 2007 Passat 2.0t, bought it from this rich dude in NY where I live and he had it serviced every 6 months since he bought it in 07. Interior is black leather and it is in immaculate condition. Only thing that sucks is a small bit of rust on the very front of the hood by the grill. Rest of the car looks really good, its that light metallic silver. Needless to say I love it but I dont know much so really appreciate the channel. You did an awesome job with yours brotha. I dont really use social media anymore but might hit you up here to update you on my upgrade process. Probably gonna either do a hood swap or see if my body shop can do anything about it. It was not easy turning this basic vw into a tuner car but somehow over the course of 5 years I did somethin to it that made it feel so unique and I couldn’t have been happier with it! 03 Passats are so classic my dad used to own one when I was a kid and I loved it. That’s when I started falling in love with v dubs and German cars in general! Definitely try to think of some cool custom work you can do to it like I did with mine. I have a bunch of passat videos where I give good tips on what to do to them.

I have a very similar mid plan with my Passat but the thing that I love the most (so far) is the tint that is the first thing that I did to my car and was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Also love the duck lip and I am about to crome delete it so it’s cool to see what it will look like. Awesome video well edited well shot and great quality with the microphone. And yes yes this plan for the passat was just kind of thrown together cause there’s not a lot mods you can buy for this car so it becomes slim pickens and you gotta narrow it down to what you can and can’t do but tinting is a great idea for a first mod I didn’t even think of that haha. Cool video I am in the UK and planning on getting the Estate Passat B6. Is it possible to add an extra battery to the car somewhere for camping / backup power? Also, what head units would you recommend? I seen some on AliExpress.

Hey man thank you for the comment appreciate it 🤙 sending our hellos all the way to the UK!! You can definitely add a backup battery but I would have it professionally installed because since you’re using it for camping you’ll need to have it wired a certain way because you’re going to be using higher end power. Also the radio I bought was a Sony Apple CarPlay 6.4” with Sirius XM. It’s an amazing radio but it is quite small. I would go with at least a 7” display maybe a little bigger if you can. I would look on eBay, bestbuy, crutchfield.com, you could also look at Amazon as well they might have what you’re looking for!

Look up oem VW head units, RNS 510 and RNS 315 are easy to retrofit and keep all the original functionality of being able to change car settings.

Oh really! I know other countries have more parts for it but since they are the European models, the parts won’t fit on mine which was the US model but it’s ok I made it 7 years with that beauty and it looked pretty nice considering. And thank you! It does sound really really good I just say!

Got a 2.0t wagon definitely looking at the gti wheels as an option to replace the cheap chromes I bought it with. Also running into the same issue with cold air intake fitment would love a more in-depth look at how u guys did that if possible.

Ayyy the wagons are awesome I love that man! Gti wheels are a must because they look so clean on other vw’s! Unfortunately I do not own the passat anymore :( but if you look at the intake video for the gti it’s exactly like that. The only difference is I did not replace the inlet tube on the passat. I just removed the intake and used a coupler from autozone that is spectre. That coupler goes in between the inlet hose and the the new intake hose. Once you clamp that together it should be all set. The only issue you’ll run into is how to mount it because we couldn’t figure it out so that’s why it was just hanging.

Appreciate that man! The mods weren’t that expensive either. The wing was $200, the coilovers were $450, and the exhaust was $800. So not too bad at the end of the day. I’ve always wanted the SEL I’m jealous haha enjoy it man these things are sleepers and low key beasts!

How did you attach the shift paddle extenders and where did you get them?

They came with 3m tape on them so I pulled off the protective covering and stuck them over my stock paddles. I held them there for a minute and once I let go they stayed on forever

Haha the car is actually very cheap! You could probably find a deal on a v6 for 6-9k and the parts I got were cheap too! The whole build I believe was in the 2 grand range so it’s a doable build if you save the money!

I bought the coupler and the filter from auto zone and put it to the stock inlet tube from the motor so it’s not a full intake but it did somethin just nothing special

Do it!!!! And yes definitely go borla, or go with a custom exhaust that is basically straight piped just keep the cats and the thing should sound mean! If you go custom definitely try for 3.5-4” piping and a 4” exhaust tip so it sounds more aggressive. You can explain all of that to the exhaust shop because they have all the piping. You just have to buy the exhaust tip and you’re set!

Replace the Throttle body intake boot with the one from ECS. It allows it to breathe way better.

Haha appreciate the comment man! And thank you I know it sounds very mean. But I simply have no resonators, no mid pipe, a magnaflow Y pipe, then dual aggressive magnaflow mufflers and the code for those are #11224 and I’m not sure what the Y pipe was. But I think the reason it sounds that good is because it’s a v6 so I’m not sure if a TDI can sound exactly like that but maybe have an exhaust shop make a straight pipe from the cat back and buy one of those mufflers and it might sound as close as you can get for not having a v6.

How much do those cost in America? They are bottom of the barrel cheap here in Ireland and you can usually get them for around 1,000 euros used

Oh wow that’s cheap! They are about 5-7k USD here so nothing too crazy. After taxes and shipping it’s about the same as Ireland. Just a great car for a cheap price though

Thanks for the comment nick! And I’d say you’re fine for a while. Mine is a 2012 with almost 200k miles and it’s never been garaged so that’s why the rust started. I didn’t start seeing it until 2019 so about 7 years it took for my car. But if yours is garaged you’ll be fine for another 5-6 years. If not you have probably a good 3-4 depending on how much you drive it.

I got you man! Here’s the list and it’s pretty simple! The pipes are stainless steel, it’s all custom and it’s a 3” exhaust. - Magnaflow Y-Pipe - Magnaflow Mufflers #11224 - Res deletes, and Mid muffler delete - 3.25 inch tips, for more sound definitely try to go 4”

Just got the 2021 Passat R-line for 40k. Any ideas for mods I can add? I can't find anything

Clean pickup! The only things I can really think of for those is an APR front mount intercooler, APR intake, and APR stage 1 tune. I haven’t found anything cosmetics wise for the car yet but it’s also still pretty new. So keep a lookout for carbon mirrors, diffuser, front splitter etc.. I also didn’t find any exhausts either so you could think of custom like mine, I just don’t know how those sound stock so you’ll have to make a judgment on what you’re looking for.

For that car specifically, I would look to delete those stock wide tips that they have and add 3.5” quad tips with new mufflers, then delete the mid muffler. If you’re looking for loud then delete the resonator and if you’re looking for obnoxious delete the cats as well. But if you’re looking for a subtle change but a nice sound, definitely go with new mufflers, quad tips that are at least 3.5” and delete the mid muffler and you’re set!

Very simple! Just grab some pliers and remove the clamp on the hose, remove the stock intake from the grommets then remove the intake. Aftermarket one was the same process I just didn’t have a box to sit in the grommets so I just left it there.

Life a glove! Fitment was on point with no fender rolling! I had 18’s stock and those would’ve been fine lowered too. These just had wider tires so I’m happy that the fitment was perfect even after that

Always looks odd when it’s lowered past the tires. These rims need low pros at that lower level

I think it looks a little weird just because the car is a boat if it was shorter based I don’t think it would look as weird. But that’s crazy because I was thinking (before I was gonna sell it) to go with even beefier tires, meaning larger side wall and larger width. So like 255 or 265’s in the front and 275 or 285’s in the rear on 18” rims still

Where did you get the exaust system

The exhaust is custom so a shop made it for me. But I bought the mufflers and y pipe from magnaflow’s website. The mufflers were #11224 oval and I’m not sure what the upc was on the y pipe but it was a universal one and I believe they only sell one kind of that so look it up and you should be able to find it. The tips are from Amazon it costed me $55 and they are 3.5” pipes. The mufflers were $178 as a pair. The y pipe was $80 and the custom exhaust total coated $863 so overall not too pricey considering.

I got the radio installed at my local Bestbuy. If I’m not mistaken Bestbuy is a nation wide store so you can check that out if so! I bought my radio there and they installed it for me. But if not, buy the radio online then take it to a local audio shop and they should be able to install it for you.

I recommend Sony because after 3 1/2 years using it, it still worked perfectly. But other options are alpine or pioneer and maybe Jensen. If you’re looking for cheaper than 500.

Yes it is supported! When they install the radio they add new wires that work with your steering wheel and the controls work exceptionally well considering it’s being used with an aftermarket radio!

How hard would it be to customize a 2007 Passat?

It would most likely be the same thing as mine. You just gotta do some research and see if they make exhausts for it. If not you’ll have to find a custom exhaust shop to do it for ya. They should have coilovers for it and you can get new wheels and radio and subs as well. Even if it’s not a 2007 v6 you can still modify the 2.0T and have fun with it and give it more power

Rotiforms are perfect on volkswagens in my opinion so check those out. Fitment industries is a great website to go to for any of you wheel needs. They also have photos to show what the wheels look on the car, uploaded by owners themselves and it’s a great perspective when looking for the right wheel choice and fitment choice. Spoilers either on eBay or straight through vw is you’re looking for a factory type look!

I got you man I’ll just send you a reply of what I did so you have it. Raceland ultimo coilovers 2016 GTI rims on sumitomo 235/40/18 tires Custom cat back exhaust with magnaflow 11224 mufflers and magnaflow Y- pipe I deleted the resonators and mid muffler Spectre intake from autozone( it’s not the best but it works pretty well with the exhaust) Carbon fiber duckbill wing from eBay Roof spoiler from eBay Custom lights that do not work anymore are from eBay (I don’t recommend) Sony 6.4” Apple CarPlay radio from bestbuy for $500 with bestbuy geek squad installation GX28 series JBL speakers in all four doors 12” JBL subwoofer with JBL AMP HID headlights are from a local headlight shop and it cost around $250 Red paddle shifter extenders are from Amazon I plasti dipped the stock grille black with a clear coat from touch up direct so it doesn’t peel You can also buy carbon mirror caps(something I was going to buy) for $70

This car does not come with a lot of aftermarket parts so any extras that you would like to do will most likely be custom. But I’m here to answer any other questions if you need it!

I got it off of eBay back in early 2020 unfortunately I haven’t been able to find it since 2022 hit, but search up carbon spoiler b7 passat and see if you can find it! I purchased it for $200 so it wasn’t too badly priced.

So the one that I bought back in 2018 from Bestbuy is currently unavailable. But you can look around at other websites. It’s the Sony 6.4” Apple CarPlay with Sirius XM and I paid $499 for it. But here’s the link for the one that’s available on bestbuy currently. Oh wow haha well with 15k you could build the whole thing if that’s what you’re implying. If you mean 15k miles then you’re at the perfect time to start modifying it. I started at 160k so I was a little late. But go for wheels to start. Exhaust next. Then move on up to the cosmetics, make it look sporty and fast. Look for aero and maybe accent wraps, like mirror and roof, a nice spoiler, all the fun stuff. If you have a turbo in your passat think about adding an intake and doing a stage 1 APR tune to give the car more juice and smooth performance feel.

Can't go wrong with magnaflo!!! You could upgrade your underdrive pulley depending upon the draw your electronics already have if you're not too concerned about drains.

Hey what’s up man! Thank you for the comment really appreciate it! I found the carbon duckbill wing on eBay for around $200 but there was a limited stock. I found the window/roof spoiler also on eBay back in 2017 for $40 and it holds up very well and gives it good flare. Definitely both recommended because it gives the car much more aggression compared to stock.
