My favourite mod on my MT07 was the SC Project exhaust. I also love the TST fender eliminator kit. Just the usual mods turns a MT07 into a phenomenal 🏍

The MT-07 is a great bike straight out of the factory. Personally I'd keep it stock, everyone is different though and can understand people doing the Mods.

You have to at least put an aftermarket exhaust and do a Flash tune at the very least. The sound is so much better with an akra exhaust.

I own a 2022 MT07 & i have done several mods to mine, but didn't want to change the muffler b/c i listen to music as i ride, & i do NOT want bar end mirrors b/c i park my bike in my house & it's hard to get through the door.....& i do NOT want the tail tidy , b/c i don't want a wet back or helmet....

I'm an old fart but, Almost bought an MT07 several years ago. Ended up with a CB1000r due to a great deal. I still may buy an MT07 and appreciate your coverage. The one issue I have with it and most bikes these days....including mine......what ever happened to normal rear fenders and the huge space between rear wheel and seat? And the snorkels or the paddle wheels they use instead of a real fender add to the ugly. A tail tidy helps with the looks but, you get your back sprayed. I guess due to my age I still consider a 67 Triumph Bonneville as the reference standard for a beautiful motorcycle :)

The exhuast sounds EVEN BETTER when you pop it up in a wheelie and ride i! out! Thats a STUNT bike if you didnt know. It sounds better then any Harley IMO :)

I have a 2022 mt07 and a 1997 sportster. The sportster is 1275cc street and strip bike 120 horsepower. I put a Chinese acra copy with a sc project silencer on the Yamaha and it sounded nothing like my sportster with a patriot defender exhaust. Accelerating hard it sounded like a 427 cobra but cruising it is just way too loud and sounded like an old sl 70 with a broken head pipe. I tried several baffle and muffler combinations but if I got it toned down an acceptable level then it made less power than the stock exhaust. Oh well after a month I just put the stock exhaust back on with the stock ecu map.

It sounds similar to a Harley as it has a 270 degree crank that replicates a V twin Harley will always sound way deeper but has a similar grunt to this

When you accelerate in 2nd geer, let the throttle go so front end dives, then grab full throttle, and see what happens:)

Just bought the exact same bike, have now got 80 miles on the odometer but I'm noticing a metal scraping/rattling sound coming from the engine when I completely come off the throttle whilst still in gear? It goes away if I accelerate or pull in the clutch but is constant if I'm in gear and not on the throttle... Is this normal or do I need to go back to Yamaha dealer?

Good god take it back. You only get a one year warranty so don’t procrastinate. I have 4500 miles on mine and have no noises. Sounds like something might be amiss in your clutch basket.

So pissed as I literally only got it last Friday after waiting 3 weeks for it to be ordered in and now I'm going to be without a bike again =/

@@1WheelUp any update on this? I just got a new MT-07 too and noticed the same thing so I asked one of the guys at the dealership about it before I left from buying it. He rode it for a sec on the lot and said it seemed fine to him. I've got about 1000 miles on it now and haven't had any issues.

I'm at 517 miles right now and the sound hasn't came back since but I've got it booked in for first service this weekend and they said they'll check for any damage then so I'll let you know

Why, to ride around the city on a 140 lb heavier bike just to do the same speeds? The MT-07 feels just as torquey and sounds better. Also, the Diavel V4 is 3 x the price and parts are crazy expensive.

I’m 59 years old and so crippled from peripheral neuropathy, arthritis and leukemia that I can barely walk or ride worth a shit. I didn’t test ride mine when I bought it. The second the rear tire was off of the dealers lot I snatched the front end up in first gear and ripped it through fourth gear. The bike is such a hoot to ride I don’t think I’ll ever wear out the front tire.
