Just respect this bike and be smooth on the throttle while you're getting used to it. Also, be sure to rev match when down shifting and use brakes while coming to a stop... because the engine braking is very aggressive and will make the rear wheel hop.

Just purchased my MT-07 2024. Everything you said 2 years ago holds true today. I have never had this much fun on a motorcycle. My Honda VTX 1300 and my CBR 500 are in different categories. @@hackysac4528 I like the power in the rpm range of the MT07. You can really enjoy the bike around 5k in 4th gear. With the Triumph you need to break 6 to 8k really have the same amount of torque. I can get to a dealer for Yamaha just about any where but a Triumph dealership is over 100 miles away from me and cost of the Street Triple wont get you anymore joy than the MT07. Cost of service and available parts and service is cheaper too. I'm so much more comfortable on the MT07 then I was on my Street Triple.

For comparison, the cp2 700cc engine is comparative to a 1200c evo engine. A 1200 Sportster will pull off the line harder and quicker but the MT07 will keep up and slowly creep by with the higher top speed. It's practically just as powerful of an engine as a 1200cc thanks to the drivetrain and DOHC.
