I love this team. Nothing but heart & grit. Whatever happens it’s still a special team who had an amazing situation. They welcomed in newcomer Jesse Winker with open arms who has been a strong addition. Winker is like an old school ballplayer who plays with passion & hustles. He’s added strong depth to this team. Whether it’s veterans like Winker or Baby Mets like Luisangel Acũna, they’re all contributing. Our depth is one of our biggest strengths. We’re doing this without ace Kodai Senga & former batting champ Jeff NcNeil. Senga did come back for a couple of innings & McNeil might actually make it back in time for NLCS! If so, that will be a huge boost to this team. David Stearns & Steve Cohen need to keep this core together. Resign Iglesias & Bader who are valuable platoon players & veteran leaders but we especially need to keep Pete Alonso a Met for life. We almost signed overrated Carlos Correa to a 12-year multimillion dollar deal. Pete is an original homegrown Mets draft pick who is one of the most prolific power hitters in MLB who’s in his prime at age 29. He’s not asking to break the bank like Juan Soto. He is the face of the franchise. He plays every day, never complains & delivers. He hit 34HRs with 88 RBIs in an off year. Heh. Also Carlos Quintana has pitched great but is entering his late 30’s while Luis Severino & Sean Manaea have taken their pitching to another level. They are vital veteran starters who can anchor the rotation with ace Kodai Senga. This will be vital for the Mets as they transition in electric young pitchers like Brandon Sproat & Blade Tidwell as they have with Jose Butto & Christian Scott. Severino & Manaea have delivered gritty clutch performances in crunch time especially in the playoffs. LFGM!
