I had Torque Tuned motors before I knew Clods need 0 timing. I swapped to Team Brood Clod motors and its now a real power house lol Please post more Clod Buster content!

Thank you for the video. Also, please keep spreading the word about using steel pinion gears. All too often I see people spend lots of money on their Clod Busters only to totally neglect the cheapest upgrade out there - replacing the stock aluminum pinion gears with steel ones. Steel 13 tooth, 32 pitch pinion gears from Robinson Racing are only a few bucks each yet people always keep using the stock aluminum Tamiya ones that are as soft as a stick of butter on a hot summer day. Even with the stock 540 motors and a 7.2 Volt battery pack, those stock pinion gears wear down almost instantly based on my experience with my Clod Buster way back in 1987. Also, thank you for recommending the Hobbywing 880 ESC. One of my Clod Busters has a PDI Turbo Zeta ESC from back in the day and I am still using the good old Novak Super Rooster in all of my other Clod Busters and Bull Heads. Super Roosters are getting kind of hard to find in good condition now since Novak went out of business in 2016, so how does the Hobbywing 880 compare? I don't want to replace my Novaks with anything else but I probably will not have a choice if one of them suddenly stops working.

The novaks definitely have the cool factor but being able to run on 3s lipo makes the hobbywing better for most situations I think

@@clodbusted1776 Oh yeah, I had totally forgotten about Lipo battery compatibility. Thanks for your input! Also, I had one other question. What is the difference between the ESC that you showed, the Hobbywing WP0880, and the ESC that Tamiya provides with the stock Super Clod Buster, the THW880 that also is made by Hobbywing? Aside from the WP0880 having a red heat sink on top and the THW880 having a black heat sink, they look the same to my eyes. Are they any other differences between the two?

I have a super clod buster that I have been working on for a while now. It is highly modified with Lots of aluminum upgrade parts and it has an LED light bar that is super bright. The truck is pretty much complete. However I have wanted to set the truck up to have 4 wheel steering. I have not been able to get it set up correctly. I haven't put too much effort into trying to figure it out but supposably It can be done with programing through the controller. I do not remember which controller it is off the top of my head other than it is a spectrum unit. It is computerized with a display screen and can run multiple RC vehicle off one controller and save all the different settings for each vehicle. The truck has been pretty much a shelf queen. :)

Sounds like you have a awesome clod. Those spektrum controllers can get pretty complicated with the programming but once you get it set up and dialed in I'm sure it will be awesome

I just saw your short with all of your aluminum chassis upgrades they look and seem like they are geometrically going to perform much better than any sassy chassis. I'm glad to see that you have a limited edition black and I bet you also purchased the limited edition gray and blue. I hope that you also have the dark blue version and that's the one that I'm searching for the one that has the mountain range along the back of the pickup truck bed those are the decals that I am searching for and that is the quad Buster that of my dreams.. right now the cloudbuster black that I have has two 17 turn red cat simple tan motors that are 550 size and I have a 55 kg servo pulling on the drag links. I did not go and modify it with on the axle servos I left it as stock as possible only reinforcing with aluminum those parts that are under heavy stress and require something a little bit thicker. I am really interested in your aluminum chassis kit? Hopefully you won't kill us with the price and you remember that the economy is going to pot. I'm so single Father to trying the kids this Happy alive from myself And My two children. The aluminum pieces look spot on I mean they look wonderful and I like the way that the shock absorbers are what appears to be perfectly vertical. Please let us know how much the kids going to cost?

Hello. Thanks for showing interest in the chassis. I improved the geometry a lot while still being able to run the stock parts, even the stock steering. It's also a lot easier to work on and there will be upgrade parts like long wheelbase cradle and longer shock towers that will bolt on to the existing chassis s. As far as price goes I'm not exactly sure yet but it will be cheaper than the regulator chassis

Very cool. I like that those motors are fan cooled. I used to run Trinity Speed Gem 2's (Sapphire 17T, single wind- for more torque) on my clod. Ran like a champ.

How many cells are you running in this setup? Whats the most you would run in this setup?

I run it on 2s most of time. The esc manual says 18t limit with 3s and 12t for 2s but I've run it on 3s many times with no issues

This one is a sassy chassis that has been out of production for years but I think cpe or jconcepts makes one called a time warp and there's similar ones on ebay
