The-Ever-Socially-Apathetic TBAL: "American drift cars have big hefty motors with lots of low end torque, because drifting in America is about tire smoke and heavy angle (which requires a lot of low end power), where as drifting in Japan is about grace, chaining (the connection of drifts from apex to apex), and speed."

"We are both used to cars that have lot of torque and suspensions so soft" No offence Rhys, I'm a fan but seriously all that power and agility made your drivers skills go low. If you had practiced with average cars and just a little suspension tune up (kinda like this Miata) it would have saved you from hall of shame. That being said I still love your drifts.

Clutch kick
@kingpin1234567610 жыл бұрын
thanks blackshadow7192
@Antifaith299 жыл бұрын
Sean Gordon Already been answered but yeah, clutch kicking It's actually the opposite of the heel-toe downshifting. When you use the clutch kick drifting technique and “kick the clutch”, the clutch is spinning slower than the flywheel, rather than the other way around as with a downshift. If the clutch connects back to the flywheel it is forced to slow down. When this happens it delivers a shock through the drivetrain that is too sudden for the (driven) tires to cope with. It can lock up the tires momentarily, so that the rear tires lose traction (assuming it’s a RWD). Bacially the same as dropping the clutch for a burnout from a standstill except its done while moving.

BMW really should make a real sports car of its own. The E89 Z4 doesn't quite fit the bill but a pure sports car from the E89 would be nice. Shove an S55 or S65 in the E89, make it wider, reduce weight, use suspension, transmission, and LSD from the upcoming M4 GTS (or previous E92 M3 GTS) = awesome car.

In my opinion the Japanese are really good drifters because they are the inventors of drifting so no surprise there but to give a fair chance to all of them the American team should have also brought a car with them that they are used with. Not to mention that Yasukawa 298 with points driven the MX-5 so good and he admitted that he is used to driving that under powered car. So there should be a round that team U.S.A should have driven their tourqey car and let the Japanese drivers drive it for a fair drifting showdown!
@Fumxe211 жыл бұрын
You have a point but the idea was to see who could control the car with limited driving time. The contest was fair the only reason the Japanese won was because Tsuchiya and Kazama were experienced.
@awakenedsoul263811 жыл бұрын
Fumxe2 Experience is almost everything but its better if they will do my idea. Its like using one cue stick with soft tip. I use yours with soft tip and you are used to it then you use mine with a heavy cue 21 ounce using a medium tip. The cue with soft tip is the MX-5 and the heavy cue using a medium tip is the tourqey american car. This way weather you have a lot of experience or have no experience to either types of cue and tip it will be more fair. Do you get it now? Its not only talking your talk or walking your walk then see in the end who has more experience, it would be more fair if you also test their best american drift cars since you visited United States Of America even if you are the one who made the segment.
