I've been using Raceface Atlas for some years now. I think they are fantastic. I personally like the flange as it's easy for me to locate my foot exactly where I want it to be.
@dialedmtb Жыл бұрын
Yeah it can definitely go either way for if someone likes that or not. But they are my favorite flat pedals right now.

Good review. I like the fact that you didn’t drag it out like some you tubers do

Thank you! And glad you enjoyed it! What other bike parts or accessories would you want to see videos on?

most tubers drag it out to hit the 10 min mark so that it can be monetized i think

Just got the blade runners today,, had *heaps* of grip, they are definitely concave (pin concave), so I think as long as the pins are not rounded the grip will be there. I've had the raceface ones, too much maintenance. The tmacs are massive, heavy, look grippy.. would be a great DH pedal.
@dialedmtb2 жыл бұрын
Yeah all of these pedals have a lot of grip! Some more than others and some have other features than others but that’s what’s cool about being able to compare them. Raceface completely redesigned the Atlas, the only one definitely needed a lot more maintenance though, which is a pain for sure.

5:52, yeah they need to include washer spacers for crank boots
@dialedmtb6 ай бұрын
On those I have the silver spacers from Raceface that are thicker then the SRAM black ones that are thinner. Use one of each.

This review is awesome, 3 of the pedals you reviewed I'm currently looking at. Always swore by DMR V12s because of the concave and grip and after an injury and not riding for 3 years my stock pedals don't cut it. After watching this I'm set on the T-Macs although $260 in New Zealand 😬 thank you for posting this 👍🏼

I’m glad this helped!! You won’t be disappointed in T-Macs, that’s for sure!

I looked at the tmacs yesterday, $280 in an AU shop. Definitely the grippiest and most concave pedal I've seen. If the size and weight are acceptable for you, there won't be disappointment. If reviews are correct about their durability, the $ is worth it.

Wolf tooth pedals look similar to the yoshimura chilao pedals, I think the pins is the only difference. Next time I would try either of those. I had oneup aluminium pedals, good pedals but did not like the feeling. I had the crankbrothers, but too big for enduro ridding trails or crash on the rocks. I have the chromag synth composite nylon material, but slip when the soil is wet. Now Im ridding the dmr vault and my favourite of all because the concave feeling for downhill and enduro. Also I want to try the raceface atlas, some reviews say that are the best. And for last, I would like to test the madpeds enduro 2 or hustle pedals (both magnetic) and the review say thar are some between flats and clipless, more grip than pedals and more safe than clipless). Some races for more pedaling I use cranckbrothers dh clipless.

Yeah I agree the Wolf Tooth and Yoshimura pedals look great!!

Should try the DMR Moto X pins in the vaults, they make the pedals grip so much better as it solves the issue with the thicker pins!

Weird thing with the grip on the Stamp 7. I use Stamp 2 myself (Large size), and grip is the least of my worries. Hard to actually move your foot once you have settled in.

Yeah it is weird, I expected a lot more out of the Stamp 7's!

Spank spoons are not the best looking pedal but they heavily underrated. I've been running the same set for around 6 years. I want to get a new set of pedals but it's going to be hard to part with my spoonies :(

That’s definitely a good amount of use out of those pedals!!

i have 3 big ticket pedals , the diety TMAC , the DMR Vaults and currently the raceface Atlas . i think i love the Vaults the best , followed very very closely by TMAC and last is Atlas . IT's not liike the Atlas is shid , its not , i just find it TOO GRIPPY that i cannot reposition my foot once i step on . the vaults i feel you get grip when you want it , and very little grip when you dont want it the Tmac feels alright i did have once a pedal flip on me and nearly shinned me ....probably my lack of technique
@dialedmtb6 ай бұрын
You have the new Atlas pedals? Yeah they are very grippy. I ride clips and flats so the super grippy is what I might tend to lean towards for flat pedals because of that. They are ALL good pedals though!
@falkyn062 жыл бұрын
Don't need a dremel tool at all for Atlas... You need 1mm of pedal washers and the Atlas pedals work on Sram cranks with the boots... Raceface give you 1.2mm pedal washers with their cranks and Sram uses 0.6mm washers... Use two and they work just fine... Haven't used the OneUp but I imagine the fix would be similar?
@dialedmtb2 жыл бұрын
OneUp has an even bigger flange then the Atlas. I did do the extra washer but still rubbed a tiny bit and I didn’t want that so a small amount of dremel work (maybe 30 seconds per crank boot) did the trick.

Nice work, you should try the 5Dev Enduro's and Yoshimura Chilao's next!

@Dialed MTB Do you have a long term review on the Oneup Oilslick pedals? i want to get some but i am worried they are just painted and wear off really quick
@dialedmtb Жыл бұрын
It is not just a paint, it lasts but it does fade just a tiny bit. Not as bad as the crankbrothers though. Those fade really bad!

Maybe the problem about your feelings on the stamps is the size, I had the small ones for a while and man the large ones are just way better…..could that be it?
@dialedmtb Жыл бұрын
That definitely could be the problem, but the only thing is the pins did seem to round out faster than other pedals did.
@codygarvin3202 Жыл бұрын
How has the longevity / wear been on the Atlas now that you've had them for a while?
@dialedmtb Жыл бұрын
They have held up great actually! Bearings still feel really good, pins are still super grippy and it doesn’t seem like there’s any movement on the shaft at all. I have not been very gentle on them either haha

@@dialedmtb Thanks. I’m sold. Coming off of OneUp on SRAM carbon cranks. But kinda sketched now that I learned they aren’t compatible.

@dialedmtb2 жыл бұрын
They are the small size.
@TOPMOSTPOP Жыл бұрын
U can have a large bearing if bearing built in2 th crank.
@dialedmtb Жыл бұрын
I am not sure if I understand what you are trying to say?
@TOPMOSTPOP Жыл бұрын
@@dialedmtb very simple. Manufacture it so as u buy a crank with bearing manufactured in crank not pedal. Pedals can then be quick connect like garden hose. In this way u could use massive tapered ball orneedle bearing. Big as u like and not have it intrude upon foot space. Biggest problem pedals tody are teeny samd grit bearings. Its not just that they shatter. They concentrate 2much energy races. Like riding on a pizza cutter tire bike vesus 1" rails if tires were metal. Bigger bearings are better thats all. U can also remove pedals as theft deterent.

Yeah they are great pedals, and they look good too! I’m sure you could, but the biggest thing for me personally is that ridge down the center where the shaft is.
