Best MTB Stem 2023 - Burgtec MK3 Stem

In this video I get a brand spankin' new 35mm Rhodium Silver MK3 Stem from Burgtec and throw it on my Santa Cruz 5010! But that's not all, I take the 42.5mm Black Burgtec MK3 Stem from the 5010 and the Ride Wide Enduro bars that used to be on the 5010 and throw them on the Stumpjumper to give that bike a face lift as well! That silver stem is sweet, such a nice contrast in color, really stands out & increase in comfort is #1 for me. Two upgrades for the price of ones, can’t beat that, I also love tinkering with my Stache 9 & Top Fuel 9.8, sometimes those small tweaks make such a huge difference in comfort & performance, looking forward to the real test on the trails, stay safe!

Nice work man I put a new stem on my bike this winter, really like it. Another is easy upgrade that make the bike more agressive is running offset bushings in your shock hardware

Thanks man! And that’s dope, what stem and size did you go with? I’ve heard of those but don’t know much about them! I’m actually still running the 5010 in the high position but might be something to keep in mind for the SJ since I have the flip chip in the low position currently!

@@NickandKatieMTB I have a chromag 35mm stem seems like it wouldn't change the feel of the bike that much but like you said sometimes the small things make the biggest changes

you're asking about what upgrades you should get.. I not long just got a Bergtec "The Cloud" saddle.. titanium rails..carbon plate..and what feels like memory foam type padding..nice bit of comfort for the twins.. haven't seen your vids yet..(first video here)..so if you've done saddle vids?..blank this comment lol.. but I'd recommend their saddles, seem really well put together tbh.

Hi I was away to order the high Rise 38s but seen on reddit how many are snapping on the bends just wondered if you have had anything like this yet? Tbh they look so thin at 5he break points I'm wondering if it's a bad manufacturing batch.

Looks sweet. One question though, how do you know where the neutral or 0 roll is with this bar and stem combo? The stem doesn't seem to have any markings for the roll.

I just assumed the top gap between the front pieces of the stem and stem body was the neutral position. Mine are rolled slightly forward from the gap but it’s a good starting point. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

Looking good! Quick question about the Burgtec bars, since you mentioned the bars you put on the Stumpjumper felt stiff, how do they compare to the Ride High bars you put on the 5010? Never had a chance to try out Burgtec bars but before I went through many 35mm clamp bars before I found one that felt comfortable.

Thanks Richard! The ride wide bars felt stiff in comparison to the 31.8mm clamp bars that were on the Stumpjumper but I never noticed much of a difference in stiffness between the ride wide bars and the ride high bars when I swapped them on my 5010. I wish I had more insight with other brands of 35mm clamp bars but for now I’ve only had these two bars from Burgtec! They feel great on the 5010 though, I was just used to the Stumpjumper feeling a certain way and with a spin around the neighborhood I noticed how much stiffer they are. I can’t wait wait to take the Stumpjumper on a legit trail ride to really get a sense of how they feel! Hope this helps, and thanks for watching! ✌️

Sweet! I’ve never ran a Hope stem so can’t say for sure but they look pretty comparable. Really depends on what size and color you want. I think both are a great option! 👍
