Dystopia Trilogy breakdown: "Scream": Hear no evil. The beginning of the video has a tagline that says, "One day suddenly the light did not come. People forgot how to say good things." In the background is the Tree of Language, which is full of life and vibrancy. Then it becomes dark and infected with the negative emotions and words people say to others while behind the mask of a screen, i.e., cyberbullying. There is a line in the chorus that goes "Devil, eyes, come, 눈을 뜬다" (pronounced 'nuneul tteonda', which means "open your eyes" or "wake up" depending upon the context). This is meant to be a warning to see the evil for what it is, rather than sugarcoating it, while simultaneously being a defense against it, as the devil horns in other cultures is actually something used to represent protection from evil, not to support it. The themes and aesthetics of this video are medieval fantasy and nature. The main line during the chorus, "Please I don't want to scream", is from the point of view of the one's being abused through cyberbullying. They don't want to scream and have the evil be heard, hence hear no evil. Then at the end of the song, the lyrics change to "I just want to make you scream", showing us that the victims in the story eventually become the abusers to others themselves once they've been corrupted by the cyberbullying. "Boca": Speak no evil. This song is pretty self-explanatory in its lyrics. It is simply a message towards the cyberbullies that they should shut their mouths or that Dreamcatcher will shut their mouths if they have nothing nice to say to others when using social media. The themes and aesthetics evolve to a more modern and urban style. They are in a neon city, fouled by dust and smog from the pollution of the cyberbullying. The Tree of Language is inside a sacred garden, being guarded by goddesses (aka, Dreamcatcher themselves). Eventually, the painful words of others sting the goddesses, causing them to bleed (their blood is gold), and the Tree of Language gets more corrupted. During the bridge, Sua sings "Too many angels dying now. I'm gonna change your mind. 다시 숨 쉴 수 있게" (pronounced 'dasi sum swil su issge', which means "to be able to breathe again"). This is in reference to the fact that angels, i.e., people, especially other K-pop stars, have been dying or are comitting suicide because of the words they hear from others online. Sua wants to change the cyberbullies' minds so that they can let the other people live and breathe another day. To speak no evil and think before they say things. "Odd Eye": See no evil. The Tree of Language has become digitized and infused with the veins and wires of social media. We are in a dystopian future, where the cyberbullying has reached its peak. People are fed lies and images they only want to see to promote their twisted views. They are goaded in by status on social media and through the colorful ads on tv. Yoohyeon drinking the red liquid is her giving into the lies and living a false life. Gahyeon is being attacked through the screen. Handong is choking herself through a mirror, marred and disturbed by her own self-image that she fronts to others, while living a life of lies behind closed doors. They are all sucked in and trapped in this digital world of hate, where the currency is vanity and the profits are pride. The lyrics tell us to not believe these lies and that we can see the evil if we just open our "odd eye" and pay close attention to the world around us. Then we will take the blinders off and see it for what it truly is. Thus, Dreamcatcher realizes that the world will always be full of hate. They are not hiding behind the lies anymore that they can find a utopia because it doesn't exist. Rather, they instead come to believe that their utopia, the land they dreamed of, is within themselves and how they behave and act towards others, including their enemies. They didn't find the utopia they were looking for because they were looking in the wrong place. They didn't find the utopia they were looking for... because it found them. It's not as sad of an ending as it seems, though it does bring realization and the seriousness of cyberbullying or even what an addiction to social media can do to people who are susceptible to it. I hope this clears it all up for you. I look forward to your future Dreamcatcher reactions. I'd recommend checking out their "Odd Eye (Dystopia Version)" for a really cool bow to tie the whole Dystopia Trilogy together. My one and only complaint about the Odd Eye MV is that they don't show Sua's amazing high kick (would have been around 16:42) It seems weird to leave out a killing part like that, but I guess maybe they couldn't get a shot they were happy with. Atleast there's plenty of performances where she does it :)

You know there's also a _robe_ to go along with that lightstick, right..? InSomnia are a whole _coven_ of clowns... 😜 The ultimate takeaway of Odd Eye is that there's no Utopia for us to _find._ You can't just stop everyone else from being assholes. But we _can_ take it upon ourselves to each be the best influence we can be, and make the world we find ourselves that little bit better each time. 🙂 It's a bittersweet ending, but with a little hope that we all have our own role to play.

Technically, "bark bark" is 멍멍 "meongmeong" (and thus a cute name for a dog, 멍멍이 "meongmeongi"). 몽몽이 "mongmongi" is also sometimes used, but more than that, 몽 (夢) "mong" is "dream" (though not as a standalone word). You can find it for example in the word 악몽 "nightmare", the name of Dreamcatcher's album. Thus, 몽 "mong" is very significant to Dreamcatcher. I'd say 몽몽이 is something like "Dreamdreamy", if you will. :P
