Fun fact, the ruelles vertes are not actually city initiatives. In order to get one, you have to comply with a municipal bylaw that states that if enough people from a particular location band together and ask the city for the authorization to create a ruelle verte, and then produce a credible plan that they will indeed follow through and maintain it, the city will then fork over money make it happen. It other words, they are first and foremost citizens' based initiatives.

JUST ONE BIT OF ADVICE FROM A MONTREAL (AN ENGLISH ONE) POUTINE IS PRONOUNCED (POUTIN) NOT POUTEEEEEN. BY THE WAY PLEASE COME TO VERDUN/LASALLE AS WELLINGTON STREET IS BLOCKED OFF TO ALL TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIANS CAN WALK FREELY WITH SO MANY GREAT SHOPS AND RESTAURANTS AT HAND. NOT ONLY THIS BUT OUR BOARDWALK GOES FOR MILES RIGHT ON THE ST. LAWRENCE ALL THE WAY TO THE WEST ISLAND!!
