We may not get a ton of spawns, but rural players (that dont complain) go to pokestops and catch pokemon and then walk around to hatch eggs. Its always a good reason to exercise

Nick, I've heard Reversal say that Heracross isn't a Region Exclusive? Have you heard anything on this? Edit: Sounds pretty clear - from Nicks' response and the multiple replies I've gotten - that Heracross is Region exclusive below a certain latitude in the Americas. Spawning everywhere south of Mexico, as well as in some southern tips of the US that are below the Mexico border.

Behemothokun, except you forgot that it works both ways, so taking down gyms is also harder now, especially with Blisseys. Used to be able to take down lvl 10 gyms on my own in 30-40 min. Now it would probably take an hour, and that's if there are no Blisseys in the gym

fair enough. I liked the balacing for gyms way more in the early game, when it comes to leveling them up and taken them down. gyms were rarely more then Level 5 or 6 and they switched faction frequently. Now they just sit in a fortress and people like me that mostly play alone (especially during the winter where leaving the house sucks) just say "no thank you" when they encounter a level 10 gym, especially if the weakest start at 2700CP.

rex calibr i just said it's not wise to invest stardust yet. i see so many comments of people complaining that their mons got nerfed or all the stardust they spent/buddy candies they walked got wasted.Also, it's not necessary that the way you enjoy the game is the way everyone should enjoy as well. i, like many other people, like to use a little bit of strategy instead of just going and tapping on the screen. and using your brain to power up more useful Pokémons instead of random ones isn't "stupid". i don't care if anyone takes my pokemon down easily. what makes my happy is seeing a good team of Pokémons in my pokedex,and i enjoy it too. :) peace ✌

You saved yourself alot of stardust from the update where allmost every strong pokemon got buffed about a month or two ago. When that update came out, everyone was excited, and now everyone is whining..it's a game, games get nerfed and buffed all the time. Don't "waste" your full stardust on Blissey too then, cause that tank will be getting nerfed sooner or later too ;)

Another thing that would help the gym problems is a Gym shuffle, people who started the first day of the game and just didnt pick the most popular gym in the area, ruffly 2/3rds or so of players are locked out of gyms just because of numbers of a local popularity contest. any players who started just a week later so had a slow start, could simply pick the popular team and piggy back, putting the other two teams to nothing because of numbers. For GenII you can have everyone re-pick, but the mascots will be the legendary beasts now, not the birds. the leaders don't even need to change. As far as Blissey, you want to Nerf it, but not other 'mons IMO just cut 25%-30% of its HP, Add more time for gym battles, OR just make Supper effective hits do more across the board. Making fighting type moves alone stronger will make Rock Ice steel And any other normal type pokemon useless just trying to Fix this.

A blissey at the bottom is currently why one of my local gyms has been stuck at level 3 for quite a while. Compared to other local gyms that are levels 7-10 and don't have a blissey at the bottom.

Not sure if anybody else has encountered this, but a few of my pokemon's movesets actually changed when gen2 was released. Most noteworthy for me was my Bite/Hydro Pump Gyarados now has Dragon Breath/Hydro Pump. Somehow I now have a legacy moveset, when previously I didn't O_o

Hi Nick! Thanks for today's episode! Really got me excited! Just wanted to share my experience with getting special items. I had a dragon scale spinning a pokestop on the 7th day. But I also got a metal coat spinning a Pokestop 2 days later (not as a first spin of the day like my dragon scale). So special items do drop randomly.

I don't know if Nick mentions this, but DPS isn't everything. For example, there are offensives moves with low DPS that outperform higher DPS if you take in energy cost into consideration. ***Tyranitars moves.*** Stone Edge - 100 dmg over 2.3 seconds - 2 bars Crunch - 70dmg over 3.2 seconds - 3 bars -By the time you've used 3 Crunches you would be doing more damage than Stone Edge + any Fast Move damage over the extra time it took to use Crunch. -Crunch is the best DPS dark move in the game because of it's 3 bar low energy cost. Making Tyranitar the best Dark Type in the game, and possible best counter to Mewtwo/Mew when they are released, not Houndoom. Stone Edge has the advantage in some situations. There's more survivability because you can dodge more often. If Niantic adds crit chance into the game, then Stone Edge would be the best move in the game hands down.

Hey Nick! I've been saying this for some time, but maybe if you mention it/agree Niantic might think about it. Would you think it would be fair to spend the amount of candies used to evolve a pokemon to a certain stage to "re-roll" the moves? You still need to catch things to get candy, but you can keep your one perfect IV mon and keep re-rolling moves until you (eventually) get the desired ones? (IE: Spending 100 Dratini candy to re-roll your Dragonite's moveset) Let me know if you agree! :D Also, just noticed this today, but did they remove the ability to name stuff with special icons? All of my icons aren't showing up anymore... >.o? Keep up the great work :D!

For anyone else who had trouble with Blissey, so far my best solution is Arcanine. Even if you have bite as your quick move, Arcanine has a very high attack stat that it can go toe to toe and whittle HP down. Though you'll likely want a fire type quick move for STAB. I just used a 2342 CP Arcanine to prestige against a 2759 Blissey. However, my first Arcanine fainted, no dodging and hyper beam still packs a wallop even from Blissey.

Hey Nick, regarding Evolution items. I spinned 300+ Pokestops across 3 days but haven't got any items (I've already got 3 all this time) Then I evolved Porygon to Porygon 2 and got a new item straight away. Assume having 3 is the limit. Poliwrath got a fighting type quick move!! That makes me happy. I have a Poliwrath with Bubble/Hydro Pump (which is still its strongest moveset overall) but it would be nice to have one with 2 fighting type moves, which would benefit from STAB.

OMG Nick! Someone left an Instinct gym with just a 2807 Blissey in it. It took me a few times playing with different Pokemon but I managed to train it up and put myself just above the Blissey with a 2813 Rhyhorn. Winning combo was a 2710 Vaporeon with water gun/hydro pump using hydro pump as soon as it was ready. Then Vaporeon fainting out about 24 seconds. Then spamming Rhyhorns Rock Smash and hitting it with Earthquake as soon as ready. This got me through 2 out of 3 times. Just got me through by the skin of my teeth. It really came down to how often Blissey used Psychic. :)

You've probably already seen the list by now but the highest DPS attacker is Gengar with Hex and something I can't remember. I think next it Machamp with Counter dynamic punch and then Flareon with Fire spin/Overheat

he's not the biggest Pokemon Go youtuber - most of his subscribers and audience are from other games before Pokemon Go came out. And the larger Pokemon Go community worldwide will point out that he's garbage. Nick, Ben, Reversal and Mystic are the main channels that anyone really talks about because they're legit channels, if there's an article talking about Pokemon Go and KZbin no one ever mentions Ali and only talk about those 4 other channels. I've been trying to get Ali A blocked from showing up in my recommended videos but I can't seem to make it happen.

Oscar Adame I don't think they're scared to call them out by name. They just don't see a point to flame wars. Nick isn't trying to set himself up as the greatest Pokemon Go KZbinr. But he does have much greater integrity, which shows in his videos and it's why I watch him. Plus, Nick doesn't make the same stupid "OMG SO AMZING!" face that Ali A does when he gets excited.

Love you guys. Cassie constantly cooking. You doing the you thing. I totally dig it. aaaand....while I know there's a small chance of you reading this comment-- I regardless have a suggestion for an episode. You usually focus on the math and mechanics of the game. And as a long-time min/maxer, I appreciate this and watch the videos multiple times to make sure it sticks. But my favorite part of catching a new Pokémon is usually going to look at the pokedex entry and seeing what tidbit it has to share. Perhaps do a video on the facts and your thoughts on some of the notable pokedex entries across the generations. You favorite, the saddest, funniest, scariest, badassest, etc. You could call out contradictions between pokedex and other released media, changes in particular Pokémon's entries over the years, and perhaps speculate on some of the vaguer information released. I'd love to see it and I'm sure plenty other nerds would eat up the Pokélore from the mouth of the closest thing to a real life ash we'll ever know.

I'd argue counter and Dynamic Punch might be the best DPS output overall for Machamp, considering the current buffs to charge moves. You want to spend as much time in your attack cycle doing charge moves as possible.

Anybody else realize that DPS isn't the best way to measure damage? It makes sense to measure quick moves by a combo of DPS/Energy because those are moves that are used constantly, one after the other. However it doesn't make any sense to measure DPS for charge moves. These are moves that can only be used once, after a certain amount of energy is gained. This also doesn't take into account the amount of energy you need to use a charge move (Thunderbolt = 50, Thunder = 100) I'm thinking we need to reevaluate how we determine best attackers. Raw damage, required energy, and slight alteration for duration of the move seems like the best approach.

It totally sucks to find a high iv pokemon, gain all the candies and stardust to evolve and train up that pokemon, but once you evolve it you're randomly given the worst possible set for that pokemon. I hope in the future, pokemon go adds a feature where you can change moves in a pokemon's move set so i wouldn't have to restart the long process of what i mentioned above. Perhaps having some heart scales available at pokestops and using those to teach your pokemon a new move to replace it's current terrible move(s). I think that would be an improvement.

Gen 2 really got me back into Pokemon go. But here is the ting. They still don't have enough content to keep people hooked. i'm 2/3's done with my pokedex(gen2). So there isn't anything after that. I hope they ad more "endgame" type of stuff. Also I think they should have an update where all the pokemon's CP's can be equal. So that way you don't constantly see the same pokemon in gyms. I mainly see about 3-4 pokemon in a gym.. It'd be nice to see some diversity and have your favorite pokemon fight the strongest and have a chance of winning. For some it may be something super common but because it's super common it's CP will be low.

I think that Blissey is a good example of why I think Ursaring with counter close combat may be a better Blissey attacker because it won't take the Super effective dmg from Blissey's Psychic type moves.

Heracross can ALSO be found in Florida, more so in the middle and south of Florida (havent seen one in northern Florida). this might be because middle and southern florida arent able to catch tauros. However you can catch a Tauros in northern Florida.

go hub might still be correct on porygon2's best move set, but it doesn't get STAB from hidden power. It's a dark attack. I'm not sure what that ultimately means for the DPS, but I imagine it knocks it down a point or 2.

if you have spotty data and want to battle gyms, try to get a Jolteon with Discharge. it does alot against Dragonite and Gyrados and others. Quick and powerful.

But Nick, you have to take energy gained/cost of all the moves to figure out the WEAVE DPS, thus the best offensive moveset. Raw DPS is not preliminary, but MISLEADING (e.g Psycho Cut is actually still a better quick move for Alakazam, because it generates energy much faster than Confusion).

Here's a funny story. Machamp. I spent 6 months farming and evolving them to get a high IV best move set champ. Which includes road trips to nest. Evolved about 12 or so and finally got 1 a few weeks ago just in time for this change. So back to farming lol. Not to mention almost 600000 star dust wasted on him plus others such as Alakazam. Thanks Niantic :/. I just hope my perfect Dragonites are still good lol.

For Alakazam, I agree that Confusion is a better move than Psycho Cut in term of DPS but with 2.1 sec duration on Confusion, this makes it very hard to dodge as I tried in Gym. Not sure if we still can use DPS to determine how effective movesets are because pokemon like Alakazam can't withstand any damage and it has to dodge.

Shadow Claw has been removed from Gengars move pool which means DPS wise definitely keep hold of your Shadow Claw Gengars as Shadow Claw has better DPS than Hex and Sucker Punch. A legacy Shadow Claw/Sludge Bomb Gengar will be pretty powerful I think.

Pinsir is not weak to Blissey's Psychic-type moves, yet it still has awesome attack and good Fighting-type moves. I don't know why people aren't investing more into Pinsir.

I'm not a number cruncher, but I don't think many of the single bar charge moves are superior to two bar (maybe even three) bar moves in a practical fight. For instance, a Thunder Jolteon will take longer to knock out a Gyrados than a Thunder Shock Jolteon would. I haven't fought enough to have any semblance of how commonly a two bar move is better than one or what exceptions exist, but keep this in mind.
