I'm in agreement, that little Zuul is pretty killer. It definitely does its job in a far less interfering manner. The extra brightness when you hit those chords made it apparent.

How does it compare to the normal zuul?
@erichfrederick92293 ай бұрын
Cool review. I'm playing on a mooer noise killer right now, and been thinking about getting the mini zuul. I was holding back because i wasn't going to use the key input. But this video shows you don't need to use the key input and just use the input and output like the noise killer. I just need it for my pedalboard.

There are two , ok Three pedals I never wanted or knew I needed until now , #1 Noise Gate , #2 Compressor ,and #3 BBE / Aural Exciter .

Yeah not the most exciting effects but they can be useful! I never tried an aural exciter but did use a sonic maximizer briefly back in the day

The tc sentry could be filtering out certain eq because it has a three band noise gate to adjust. Cool video though

not sure which to choose, the sentry has software to allow long chords and feedback to ring long with no cutting off, the zuul should be used with the key in out to amp to also allow long chords but no one has showed a video of this been successful

I just turn any gate off when I want things to sustain forever. That’s the beauty of a pedal!
@adriankalebra6665 жыл бұрын
I run my sentry through the chain and the fxloop and its silent. I have a zuul as well but I wish I would have saved the money and got the sentry first. It's the same to me

@adriankalebra6665 жыл бұрын
@@DrDannyMannGuitar yeah I mean its preference really. The zuul is an amazing pedal. The good thing about it when I first got it was I used the fx loop and used the key input to my signal engaged it with the threshold all the way down and it was silent. That's pretty nuts. The sentry I had to mess with for awhile to get it to do the same thing. And hooking it up to the signal chain and the fx loop is a bit confusing you cant just got input output through the signal chain then send and return to the fx loop it doesn't work. Overall its just a good pedal for the price point is what I was really trying to say. I'm not knocking the Zuul cause it is a very powerful noise gste

Hey man! Just got a Zuul and am not liking it too much. I’m using a Bogner uberschall. The Zuul doesn’t do much in front on the amp, where most of my pedal noise comes from. In the loop with the key it doesn’t work with my delay. Any tips??
@DrDannyMannGuitar4 жыл бұрын
Hey Wes, sorry to hear that you're struggling with your noise. It sounds like you want to have it in the effects loop using the key. Are you running your delay after the Zuul? I think that could solve the delay issue.
@wesliggett24544 жыл бұрын
Dr. Danny Mann thanks so much for your reply. I have no idea what happened, but after fighting with it for hours last night, I gave up. No one touched it while I was at work. When I got home, it all worked perfectly! The key input really makes the thing react differently. Thanks for the help and awesome vids! I think I’m really going to like this gate now!

Say I'm running 2-3 distortion pedals at once for my lead sound (amps totally clean), would the Zuul be better in the effects loop or after all the distortion pedals and going straight to the front of the amp?
@DrDannyMannGuitar5 жыл бұрын
Timothy Mailloux Zuul will cut the most noise in the effects loop, but if your loop isn’t super transparent then just going through the loop could add some tone suck compared to not using the loop. If you get one, there’s nothing better than experimenting with it in different spots in your rig
@toneconsultant5 жыл бұрын
I'll admit, I was going to roast your and your post because the Zuul needs a bit more explanation in it's setup. I, however, would actually hear the differences. With that said, it was a bit more informative than most Zuul review.
