Pay close attention to his statement that he just stopped filming the rocks there were so many. Lower Hareball is what he's referring to. There have been 2 days riding there where I've had to stop halfway down that section (accidentally thinking I was still fresh) and just freaking walked out from exhaustion. It's hard to see in videos, but it's like having to ride a dry riverbed for a minute plus at the steepest of angles. I miss it...and my low tire pressure 2.7" Maxxis Mobsters.

snowshoe sucks when it's wet, like riding greased marble countertops. That hurricane is coming up the coast just in time. Riders be crossing their fingers it stays dry. Glad they send them through the woods along the southern boundary. Thats my fav area of the park, not a lot of people ride over there. Most the traffic stays on the machine groomed bobsled runs. Excited to see how this one goes down.

No, Snowshoe sucks when it starts to dry out. Gummy, wheel stopping, handlebar swapping, ankle deep, snake slick & unforgiving ruts. hahd

Snowshoe is quite a sports-oriented mountain resort. Every Summer for way over a decade they've organized a round of the Grand National Cross Country, a US dirtbike racing series that consists of 2-hour quad pro race on Saturday, 3-hour dirtbike pro race on Sunday and many more races for kids and amateurs too.

Also. Since I’ve ridden so much of this place. I feel like they could have taken a different approach. West Virginia trails are natural and gnarly, ride Slatyfork, Valley Falls, Kanawha state forest, and many others, those trails are true WV gnar. Snowshoe could have made this track a much more challenging/ engaging with more natural features. I rode this track, not to the gnarly potential but to the... oh I’ll stand at the rock garden and see who hits it the best section. Being a native, I’m kind of disappointed. Best of luck to the racers and to Snowshoe to possibly hold another event as such.
@jonnie2bad5 жыл бұрын
kinda in the same boat with you, I used to ride here 2-3 times a year. I feel like there is too much machine groomed stuff up top but I guess they wanted some speed before they give them the tech stuff. Not sure the riders are gonna be so stoked on the fresh fresh new track not rode in at all. If it gets wet it's gonna be a fucking slop fest with bikes coming down with 20 pounds of clay stuck to them. I feel like lower hairball would have been a good decision but what do I know,
@thingswelike5 жыл бұрын
@@jonnie2bad Worth remembering that the live feed will be the bottom half of the track, so if they put some really gnarly stuff up top, it could decide the race and we wouldn't see it.

Consider that this is going to be all World Cup riders, with only 5 guys in the field from our entire country who can keep that pace, and stuff you and I ride at our pace gets a whole heck of a lot hairier. Everybody is going to go all out for this last race and wants to end the year on a bang. Stuff is going to get really, really stupid in places we wouldn't think about. There will be probably be at least 1 carted off from a tank slapper in the grass. World Cup speed high siding...ooooffff
