This was great. I just want to say my husband and I raised our children the same whether male or female. We gave them the attention the needed and we keep telling them how loved they are. We admit our mistakes and move on. I like the Dr. She has great advice. The only thing I would add is both boys and girls need that love and affirmation from their parents. Maybe I'm controlling, but I want to know what movie the kids are going to see ahead of time. When I was about 20, I parented myself and walked out of a movie that a date took me to see. I couldn't help it, but I was too offended to sit there.

How to respond to my adult daughter. That asks me why I did not warn she about marriage. And because of me "not warning her" she has her 5 year old son and married the father who is abusive and controlling. Now in the process of divorce and he is accusing her of abusive to him. She is a kind and loving young woman and a great mom

Really i do need this book at least on audio if not in paperback form. My daughter is 17 and a half. She is miserably hateful toward me. I want to help her. She denies me that opportunity though. I do not have a job, as i am disabled and on SSI and child support, including her 2 teenage brothers. I can not afford even one dollar donation.
