I just can't understand for the life of me how Debbi Morgan didn't win the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress! It just goes to show you those award shows are bias because no matter how many times I've seen this clip I cry every single time! It cuts you to the quick. She and Darnell are fantastic actors who never got the true respect they deserve.

I remember when we only had four TV channels and we had to make it home every day to watch all my children. If I'm not mistake n they were the first serious love story with an African American couple. You will never know how many days we cried with this couple.

These two were really the Male & Female Jackie Robinson of Soaps. Kristoff St. John (Neil Y & R) once said that were it not for Angie & Jesse there may not have been a Dru/Neil, Abe/Lexie, Kat/David or any other African American Soap Couple on Daytime TV. Darnell Williams should be decorated by the Queen since he is British Born as is Tonya Lee Williams (Ex-Olivia Y & R).

Looking Back if Billy Dee Williams and Cicely Tyson (Ex Jim & Martha Frazier) Guiding Light 1966 opened the door a crack, These two tore the door down for Black Soap Actors. Darnell Williams and Debbie Morgan were the first African American Actors to even appear on Soap Opera Digest and Darnell was the only Second African American Actor to win a Daytime Emmy for Best Actor, the Other was Ed Hall (One Life To Live)
