This man was an absolute bloody delight to watch! Knowledgeable and yes, savage!

I'll never forget how Brian, as motoring writer for The London Evening Standard, covered the lauinch of the Renault 25. He hated it and spent the the whole double page spread article talking about his first romance with motoring in Paris. I'm still talking about it nearly 30 years later so there you go, proof if proof need be!

LOL - a one off! RIP Mr Sewell - at least Rome banned those fake vulgar "gladiators" a couple of years ago.

Rimini is the Italian Blacpool, with wormer weather. Sewell wouldn’t be seen dead there.

I ve seen a ranking done by Sewell of the best works of sculpture in history,he put some british military sculptural monument as number 1. Above David,Apollo Belvedere,Laocoon and His Sons,Venus of Milo,Nike of Samothrace,The Thinker,Discobolus. Laughable really. Even if we consider sculptural monuments the Ara Pacis and Victor Emmanuel II monument in Rome are way superior to some obscure british stuff. Talk about jingoism...probably a cope strategy for the fact of british inferiority in the history of sculpture or painting
