Watching the highlights and remembering all the games (watched almost all of them) I still can't believe how inconsistent the team was and how bad the playoff run was. JR's choke, Love's, Clarkson's, Hill's, and the rest of the bench disappearances. So much up and downs. Was it chemistry? Was it LeBron? Is the team toxic? Is it Lue? Guess we'll see next season. Go Cavs!

My biggest takeaway from this is hearing Fred Mcleod's voice again. He was such a phenomenal and criminally underrated commentator. He was there a lot of LeBron's first run in Cleveland and had the job until he passed just weeks before the 2019 season unexpectedly at 67 years of age. He wasn't only a commentator, but a truly hardcore fan of the team and it makes me very happy he got to witness the Cavaliers' only championship. The enthusiasm he held for Cavalier basketball and the city of Cleveland, even during the years that were tough as a fan to watch, just isn't something that can be faked. When we won in 2016, there was a watch party at the Q in Cleveland and he and Austin Carr called game 7 for the fans in attendance. I'll never forget that, he screamed at the top of his lungs "GOODNIGHT OAKLAND! THE 52 YEAR DRAUGHT IS OVER! 18,801 DAYS, AND IT'S OVER! CLEVELAND, CELEBRATE BECAUSE THE CHAMPIONSHIP IS YOURS!" and he sat down for a second and just dropped his head into his hands and started crying his eyes out with tears of ecstasy. I'm sure it sounds stupid to people on the outside, but I watched that team in my living room for so many hears alongside his voice, through thick and thin, and FINALLY we felt true triumph, and felt it together after a long and arduous journey. Rest in Paradise Mr. Mcleod. The city of Cleveland and all of Northeast Ohio miss you so very much. Save me a seat near you up there in the clouds my friend.
