That is true. But also notice how Phil also picks teams with emerging top 20 all time talent? Yeah, he took a good team and turned them into championship teams, no doubt, but I don't see him rebuilding a team. Nor do I see him changing his philosophy like Pop has done. Im a Spurs fan, Ive seen the change from the 4-down with Duncan to the most beautiful offense I've ever seen that we have today. A system that wins without talent. Coaches need talent, but I'd love to see how many championships Pop wins with Phil Jacksons talent pool. I'd dare say that the Shaq Kobe Lakers would have stayed together longer.

I believe one of the reasons that the Spurs were so successful as a team is that their most important players (Duncan, Ginobili and Parker) had personalities that matched perfectly with the type of coach Pop is, being the 3 of them really hard working, resilient and unselfish guys, putting collective goals above individuals. I don´t wanna throw names, but am not sure if other "diva-like" superstars would have a good time with this man coaching them.

I just said “I don’t want to bother you, but I’m a big fan.” He said you’re not bothering me… bought me a beer….and had an incredibly friendly conversation with him. All the while signing autographs and taking pictures with anyone who asked. I was shocked…. he was so warm and friendly and made me feel like we’d known each other for years. Asked about my wife, my kids, my friend getting married….if I was gonna object lol. Talked for a half hour. Salt of the Earth type of man….
