In my personal opinion, no guitarist has been as adept at pick squeals as Dimebag was. He just did naturally what most wish they could do. I've never seen another guitarist use squeals so fluidly and intentionally. He meant and felt every note he played. That he enjoyed and lived fully in every live performance is obvious. His genius lives on

@jimmys511Ай бұрын
Remember he’s the only guitarist in the band so when they play live there are no backing tracks of Rhythm guitar for his solos. That shows (1)how great Rex is as a bass player but (2) it shows how great his solos are that they don’t need cords behind them, they stand on their own as an important section of music added to the song like a breakdown in todays metal in which I believe Pantera also invented besides groove metal.

Floods has the most supreme intergalactic overlord of all guitar solos, ever conceived… in the entire history and future of mankind; From the time it was an abstract thought in Dime’s head, through the present, until that inevitable cataclysmic asteroid resets this little planet again, and humans go back to living in caves, Nature will reclaim the land for about 15,000 years, every trace of our current civilization gets erased, and the instrument we know as a guitar, will be reinvented and re-evolve in around 20,000 years. Even after all of that, there will still never be a more perfect guitar solo created, than that of the one in Floods.
