Numer 22. Fabie is one of the drivers here in washington that makes driving so difficult and aggravating. Pickup truck driver follows the correct procedure for merging into the turn lane and here fabien comes sneaking from behind thinking hes not at fault for not waitng for the lane to open. That pick up driver is still ridiculous too for doing a hitb and run
@dherzog02Күн бұрын
The other driver DID NOT follow the correct procedure for merging into the turn lane. The correct procedure is to *signal* your intent well before changing lanes, check the lane for other vehicles, and then when it is safe move over. The other driver failed on all three. Did not signal in advance (only at the last second), did not check the lane (probably), and did not move over when it was safe. The cammer however, merged into a two-way left-turn lane for the purpose of making a left turn (allowed), traveled approximately 50 feet in it (allowed), before the lane he was in transitioned to a mandatory turn lane (allowed). Please tell me what law the cammer violated here.

I agree! Where else can you take a test (that you barely studied for) when you were a cocky, brain-dead teenager, and never have to take another test for the rest of your life? Even though laws change, and the person's physical and cognitive abilities change throughout their life, the DMV is like, "Nah, you're good!" There have been discussions about having senior citizens retake the test, periodically, after they reach a certain age, or exhibit concerning behaviors. I think EVERYONE should take a refresher drivers ed course at least once in their driving career, and MORE OFTEN if they have a questionable driving record. I took drivers ed in high school, and got my license at 16 years of age. I'm 65 now, and I live in another state from where I originally got my license. I don't even remember if I had to take the written test, much less the drivers test, when I moved here over 40 years ago. Every once in awhile, I find out about a law that has been changed, purely by accident (not an ACCIDENT, but by chance!😂). I know I'm not alone in not being up-to-date on my driving laws. We should ALL be required to attend a one-day refresher course every 10 years, maybe. Take a written test at the end to see how much we paid attention. Get a star or something to put on our license, showing we are good to go. If we don't pass or don't score a certain percentage, then take the driving test again. Fail that, and get your license suspended until you go through a driver training Course, and pass. Driving is a privilege, not a right. There are too many people on the road who, in my opinion, have LOST that Privilege. Sorry I was on my soap box today. But, seeing all these drivers who flaunt the law, or take it into their own hands, breaking the law themselves, has obviously struck a chord in me! 🧐🤨😕🙁☹️😟

The law says you are allowed to drive in the two-way left turn lane in preparation for making a turn up to a certain distance. The cammer did exactly what the law specifies. If it wasn't legal, there would be a law that says you can't do that, no?
@mrjeff2396Күн бұрын
@ I am not in disagreement with you. This is some ‘other’ data I garnered. In most U.S. states, the use of a center lane designated for bidirectional traffic, often referred to as a two-way left-turn lane (TWLTL), is regulated to allow left turns from the lane. However, using the lane for purposes other than making a left turn into a driveway or other road (not necessarily at an intersection) is typically not allowed. The rules for TWLTL usage can vary slightly by state. Generally Permitted Uses of TWLTL: • Making a left turn onto another road, driveway, or similar entrance. • Preparing for a left turn from a driveway or side street into the main road by first merging into the TWLTL. Common Restrictions: • You cannot drive for an extended distance in the TWLTL. • You cannot use it for overtaking or as a through lane. For specific details: • Colorado and many other states allow the TWLTL to be used for left turns into or from the roadway but prohibit extended driving in it. • California, for instance, allows drivers to travel up to 200 feet in the TWLTL before making a left turn or merging into traffic. ADDED: Here in Colorado, it is not uncommon at all for many drivers to cue in the center lane in prep for their left turn. The unfortunate outcome of this action is the fact that drivers from the opposing direction desiring to also use the center lane to turn into a business area cannot be accomplished due to all the left turn drivers staking ownership to cue into the left turn only lane! Frustrating to say the least!

The following are a few speculations I can name off the top of my head as to why people run after collisions that seem to be quite common: 1. Suspended/revoked license, no insurance and/or expired tags. 2. Typical narcissistic behavior of not wanna be held responsible for their willful recklessness, increase their insurance premiums, pay violation fines and/or be booked for charges, believing that nobody's ever gonna be able to identify and report them if they just dip and subtly deal with their own damages later on. 3. Driving under the influence, having illegal stuff in the car or committed some major crime(s) just moments earlier. 4. The car is stolen or "borrowed" by a reckless acquaintance of the owner. 5. A combination of any aforementioned points.

My hot take. If you have on video a vehicle committing a hit and run, to see able to see the plate number or you state the plate number out loud, the police should be obligated to file a report and charge the legal owner of the vehicle. I shouldn't matter if it was the driver or their kid driving or whatever they were the responsible party of the vehicle. I'm so tired of seeing people report that the police won't file a report because "it's too much work or not worth it"
