But that, that just solidified that fact in the most intense way. Plus his "all heroes die of overwork" line, that's a hell of a good line.

Spoilers: Crazy thing is at the last battle our boy Ikta was right and he at the most important moment collapsed of overwork and the Empire won. Well if youʻve read the novel you know. Either way the Republic went back home defeated.

Yatori's family stages a coupe and makes she and Ikta enemies. He fights to get everything back to normal to get her back. We get flashbacks that make you want them together even more. The princess continues to annoy you with her jealousy. Former allies are killing each other it's incredibly sad. Ikta manages to get Yatori free of her familial bindings by challenging her and beating her for the first time ever but moments later she notices a group about to assassinate Ikta and throws herself in front of the bullets. She dies but before she does tells him to protect the princess from everyone and herself.
