Love this. I’m amazed at how close spectators are from the track, especially at squirrely parts of the track. If it hasn’t happened yet (I’d be surprised), it’s bound to happen, spectators being seriously injured, or killed, when someone flips their cart and rolls through a crowd. Regardless, my friends and I used to do this, on a smaller scale, and we’d go from sun up to sun down. Keep on racing, and be safe

I remember back in like, '84 - my grandma's neighbor had a Willy ....brand new at that time...he was saying the Superchamp could fly off the roof of a house no problem....most Tamiya cars back then were like $250 CAD, out of immediate reach for a twelve year old! So, after expressing much enthusiasm, my dad got me a Tokyo-Marui Hunter for Xmas! I had to do a shit ton of chores to afford a cheapish two channel radio and the battery plus a charger. About six months later, I brought the beast to LIFE! Whadda blast - that first time it took off down the alley kickin up gravel and dust in its' wake, my friends guffawing and cheering at the speed. The Goddamn Hunter's shock towers always broke, and I was looking at Superchamp ($400 back then) and the Hotshot which was about $300 - waaay out of reach, so a buddy of mine's brother sold me a Frog with a cacked diff for like $50. Cost $85 for the effin rebuild kit -diff gears, spur gear and something else - but that thing was waaay faster than the Hunter! . A year or two later I saved enough to buy an RC12L and got that sucker blazing around, then bought a new RC10.....never got it running tho. Vaginas were first thing on my mind at 16 years old, so I gave up the hobby for 31 years! Now I gotta get me some - just need $2500 of disposable income for my wife and I to imbibe!!! Have eyes on a Neo Scorcher and Plasma Edge 2 for us to get back in. She expresses interest, but I told her she has to build the sucker herself for pure satisfaction of feeling it come to life for the first time.

I should have been told about this as a kid. I used to driveway suspensionless solid rear axles like this all the time. It had a modified racing go car engine and was basically a racing go-kart frame but I drove that thing just as wild as these guys on the endless miles and miles of dirt roads and fire breaks. If I had known of this style of racing i likely would have ended up being a rally driver instead of a dirt track, road racer, drag racer, and what we just call "get away driver". Damn cool sport that's I'd even like to try out today even if i am 37 years old.

Probably in the 5 grand range. A decent racing cart is going to cost you 1500 or more. So a rally cart with independent suspension amd a much bigger engine, custom shell, rollcage and off road tire setup? 5k easy

I built something like these without the 4 wheel suspension, using a liquid cooled KX250 engine with a 3 wheeler rear end, the front was a foot wider to make up for the skinny ass-end. Could take off in 3rd gear gravel flying. If I make another it will have full suspension and a snowmobile engine with the variable speed clutches. No shifting just on or off
