Best Of Martha Argerich 2023

For my final upload of the year here is a compilation of my favorite concerts from the year, Martha has performed about 85 concerts this year.

Martha is the model for all pianists. Notice how still she sits all the time and no goofy faces or exaggerated body motions like Lang Lang. She is also a better musician. She’s probably the greatest living pianist.

@@daniels1633 you have good taste. I studied with Eugene List and he was on the jury when Martha won the Chopin Competition. He said there was no question who the winner was. They only debated the other prizes. He was also on the jury when she walked out due to Pogorelich getting eliminated. It was great to hear these stories first hand.

What a musician. Argerich was my star, my idol and inspiration -I am 71. I saw her perform a few times in Montreal. How generous of her to still spoil her fans.

I have always treasured Horowitz's last recording at age 84 (or so), and several KZbin recordings of Rubinstein in his late 80's, marveling at how fresh and quick they still played. Although Martha has been my favorite living pianist for about 2 decades, I did not realize how old she already was. After seeing her play as good as ever in this video, I checked Wikipedia and was astounded to learn that she is already 82! Not only does she not look a day older than 70, but she plays like a 50-year-old! Thanks so much for the download.

I never have the chance to see her (Even I never see a concert in person), but I started Piano (Self Taught, 1 year ago) inspired by some bands (Like Nightwish, Kamelot and specially Epica) and I'm from Argentina. Martha Argerich is awesome, and I feel so Proud of being born in the same country (Argerich was so important for me too). I practice every single day to get better ^^, seeing this inspire me a lot ^^. (Sometimes I upload the music I compose in my Channel, I dream to be a good Pianist and Composer. I am 19 years old).

To play at such a level at 82 (and coming back from an illness last year) is a miracle. How blessed are all of we to witness this. To me the best moments are the Beethoven 1 on period piano, the Schumann quintet and the Choral Fantasy!!

Der Gassenhaueransatz im Großteil derStücke überzeugt mich nicht, der Gesang in den Kinderszenen, die Kreativität in der Bach-Form und die anfängliche Stimmung im Tschaikowski hingegen schon. Darin scheint Fr. Argerich seelisch frei aufgegangen zu sein.
