Darkaraz Really? I thought it was a bit badly designed in a lot of ways. For instance, the enemies that come out of pits and require complete trial and error, or the stupid first two jumps in Bright Man's stage that you can only barely clear, or the bad checkpointing in general. Then again, I have the anniversary collection on PS2, is it different in other versions?

Stephen Lastname I have the NES and the Legacy versions. At first I hated the enemies from the pitfalls. In Dust Man's stage they're not the big deal but Cossack Fortress 1 was hell itself thanks to them. However, for that one I found out that if you kill the first Skeleton Joe and use the Rush Jet on that point pressing up as much as you can (almost in the TV border) you can easily avoid all dangers and continue without a scratch. For Bright Man... As he's the second to get rid of you cannot use the Rush Jet. It's just good timing. I've died a lot on these but now I memorized it's easy for me to clear. (Like Yellow Devil and Quick Man's beams) For the robots masters I think they're all easy if you know them. Maybe the most problematic of the bunch are Skull Man and Ring Man. The first Wily capsule is pretty easy and the second it's not that hard with the charged pharaoh shot imo. Even if I'm saying all this I still consider MM4 to be one of the hardest if not the most along MM1. However by playing I learnt some tricks and now I'm very used to it. It's my second favourite MM game. (First is MM6). What's your favourite, btw?

Also, my personal favorite, although it's a bit cliche, is MM2, thanks to Crash Man and Heat Man's stages, but it's also the one I played through the most, so I may just not have gotten to the good parts of the others. Among the others, I particularly liked MM6, but MM4 might be up there after I try again. :)

Great choices! I'd also add the Wily fortresses from MM5 and MM6. They had that epic Wily buildup feel while being sad/bleak.. MM10 soundtrack doesn't typically get enough love. Pump Man and Chill Man's atmosphere... and that bass in Chill Man!

Mega Man 2 was one of my favorites. Great music especially Dr Wiley's stage 1&2. Got me into Mega man hardcore after that. Went back and got part 1 as a kid and geez our american box art was garbage looking back now lol. Game was good to but Part 2 is what made me love Mega all the way to 11 as a grown up. Those games pushed your skills/timing back in the 80/90s as a kid.

You should totally add Megaman 11 to this, and Megaman and Bass, since thats also a "classic" megaman game. M & B is a SNES/GBA game with 8 robot masters in it, its basically megaman 8 with 2 playable characters in it. Note: M&B is a very hard game, alot of practice needed to beat it.

But i still think both castle themes from Megaman 5 are very solid, and while my opinions are very weird, i think Wily Stages is the best NES Megaman theme out there.
