I'm thrilled to see this! I had a great, great grandfather who lived somewhere around the Grand Encampment area. William Allen Williams was born in Sept. 4, 1849 in Randolph, Indiana and he died at age 51 in Carbon County, WY on Sept. 13, 1900. He and his (estranged wife) Sarah had my great grandma Hazel Elinore Williams. He apparently held mining claims in the area at the time of his death. To find there was a wonderful photographer that recorded so much means I'll be wanting to contact the Grand Encampment museum. I'm too old to travel so perhaps the Internet can help. Some more family also lived in Rock River and regularly made trips to Encampment.
