precisely because it's GM. people are used to everyone playing by the book and playing optimally meaning like you see in pro play. seemingly weaker plays that are easy to counter become a blind spot for people at the top.

I think the sentiment that GM players usually don't expect these types of shenanigans is pretty accurate, but don't forget to factor in your latency. He is generally playing around 50 ping. I play around 95 ping, and often my tires will get destroyed even though they don't look like they should. If you watch the replays it's obvious there was a massive difference between what happened in game, and how it looked client side. I find this to be especially bad on junkrat, since you often go from being very far away to the team fight to right in the heat of things. Any dropped frames or spike in latency can be extremely fatal. If I'm going for the type of point blank tire you see in this video, I have to press R2 as fast as possible and hope that the server gets my input in time.

​@@juto8809 Noticing your surroundings (i.e. positioning), sound cues, unexpected movement, thinking about where enemy players would be when, their ults, counters, etc. are all natural to higher ranked players. It's not a question of a million years, it's a question of paying attention. On top of thinking ten moves ahead of your enemy, people at higher ranks have a very good reaction time. There's a slight delay from when the ult for junkrat is activated to where the tire that he uses becomes available to the junkrat. In addition to hearing the loud mines, junkrat flying and landing, thinking about where he would be with his ult, six of these GM players should have had enough reaction time to break down the tire and get the junkrat before he had a chance to move. Watching this video again, as a whole, I am just appalled that even such dull people make it to higher ranks.
