It was so amazing charron fit really well but rone did better every round. Third round was legendary I get chills every time I watch it.. sooo good. I fuckin hate that pat stay was murderer so sad and unfair. Him and rone were great together. I love Pats battle against charron too. Poor charron he trys hard but they just wash him. I just realized charron stole rones whole idea in his battle I think it was thesaurus. Where Rone does the whole odds on ways that you die . Rone is a clever writer and a charismatic performer, as well as potentially the funniest battle rapper of all time. But one huge way in which he stands out, not necessarily for better or worse imo, is that his performances feel more like ted talks than battle rap rounds. He doesn’t rebuttal, he doesn’t freestyle, he doesn’t react to his opponents much; he writes these fantastic essayistic deconstructions of people, but you could put him alone on a stage with a picture of the person he’s talking about behind him on a projector and it wouldn’t change much. Doesn’t feel like he engages with the medium he uses, like his rounds are completely isolated from the context of being a battle rap, despite being themselves constructed in line with battle rap conventions. Idk just something that I find oddly striking every time I watch him. Regardless, absolutely unique and borderline legend of the craft, will always find him entertaining.
