Another good one Guys & Gals! A few nice Pollock, strings of Mackerel and a couple of Lobsters. Great footage of the Bass rising at the start, and the Dolphins were fantastic to see! What lure were you using for the Bass? Tight lines, stay safe & well. 🎣🎣👍👍

The weed, commonly known as Japanese wireweed (Latin name - Sargassum multicam) arrived / first recorded in the early 70tys in the south of the UK, probably arrived on ships from the far east via water ballast. This seaweed is a fast growing invasive species outgrowing our local seaweeds preferring shallow / estuarine areas and is a pain!!! we have quite a lot around us in Jersey. Wishing you both the best, am enjoying your vlog.

Yes. We have been loosing sand where we come to the moorings and that weed is starting to overtake clogging the props. It can also drag the pots away in rough weather when it breaks free and wraps around the ropes.

You gotta watch out for those fluke lures, I've had them, the first few times the fish are on the chew and take anything, you attribute it to the lure, and it never catches again.

I have used very similar lures to this before they work great early to mid summer then not so good later in the year

Yr dolphins looked more like porpoises to me
@Trojwaterman Жыл бұрын
Bottlenose dolphins. They were big the film does not show the scale very well. Although I have seen porpoise, common dolphins and Risso's dolphins but they have all been further out to sea

Troy is there a problem on Guernsey with people stealing your pots and do they actually take the pots or just cut the lines to stop you accessing them Another channel on youtube reckons he has lost a £1000 worth of lines and pots recently
@Trojwaterman Жыл бұрын
Not really a problem you always get the odd person but they eventually get caught out if they keep doing it. Sometimes careless boats with rope cutters run over gear but even they can come unstuck. A lot of the time storms and strong tides can drag the gear a long way even buoys can burst when pulled down.

Do you not wear flotation gear? You are floating in a half-walnut shell in the ocean.
@Trojwaterman Жыл бұрын
Yes we have flotation jackets also help against the cold water as that's your biggest problem should you end up in the water. We also carry VHF radio' lifejackets' flares and a waterproof phone.
