I knew the flying one couldn't be true because during a jump the plane doesn't just loiter while people have conversations and jump. If it is a group, they all jump quickly. The plane is going hundreds of miles an hour. Every minute that plane is like 5-10 miles away from where it was. If this was a small operation out of a small plane, maybe it could work out, but a military jump is likely out of a large plane and you don't wait. You jump when you are told to jump. Also, it is very loud.
