Among the frequent guests, Bob Mortimer spins the best yarns (he might arguably deserve that title just from the oddball names of his cohorts); Claudia adds the most charming embellishments; and Miles provides the best banter and reactions. The debate about the Hippo width always bothered me. Nish's original question was about how a hippo would fit through the door so of course Miles would respond with its width, unless it had slid into the room sideways. I know, it's an old clip and nobody cares but I needed to get it off my chest!
@Sawbucks886 ай бұрын
Same here. Plus the fact that Miles says that he only saw it from behind and yet they still criticise him about measuring in width - how could he measure in length if he never saw it side-on in the first place? (I know he never actually saw it at all in the end, but I share your frustration that this is specifically what they pull him up on.)

@passengerplanetearth6 ай бұрын
I agree, someone should have asked him to play it out. 20 strokes? Takes about three strokes to rid yourself of the drops before applying a towel, 20 is just redundant. And 50 on the head? Really? Go on then, 50 times, we'll wait... Most people couldn't even COUNT to 50 without getting bored. However, fair to say that Miles is hilarious, and was given some really sucky cards with ridiculous stories to defend. Glad he won some in the end!! That crack about aspiring to Cliff's lifestyle, for example; a really good comedian will start a sentence knowing there's something funny on it's way but not knowing themselves yet where it will go. They just start talking, and something funny comes out, all by itself. That's why they sometimes crack up and laugh at themselves, they were themselves surprised at what they were saying and how funny it was :-)
