Look up his tag match for AAA at World's Collide in 1992. You'll also see the talents of his tag partner the late Art Barr. Had he lived he would have been up there in the bracket of Eddie, Jericho, Benoit as one of wrestling's top workers.

A fun detail about the Mania XX finish is that Eddie actually grabbed the ropes with his legs during the winning pin for leverage, almost as if by instinct. It happens right before the 3 get counted so it's only rarely brought up, yet shows the kind of detail Eddie would put into his matches. He didn't need to grab the ropes by that point, but it fit the "Lie, Cheat, Steal" mentality perfectly & makes for a fun thing to notice on follow up viewings, since you wouldn't notice it the first time around. As for a match that wasn't included in this video, I pick Eddie vs. The Rock on Raw in 2002. It was the only time the two ever fought in a 1-on-1 encounter, and it naturally resulted in an outstanding match, with probably what remains the greatest counter to the Rock Bottom ever seen. Those two performed as though they had always fought each other in the past.

I just turned 38 a month ago and I’m the same age Eddie was when he passed. At the time I wasn’t as big of a WWF/E fan as I was back when I started watching wrestling in 96 when he passed in 05 but I still would watch Smackdown on a pretty consistent basis. I remember watching that episode live and I was shocked when they announced his death. Back then we didn’t have social media so you didn’t get instant news like you do today so I found out on TV. It’s hard to believe it’s almost 20 years since he passed and me being 38 I realize just how young he still was, and probably would have still wrestled at least another 10 years. Eddie’s passing will always be a big deal to someone like me because it’s from that point where I became even more disinterested in the WWE product. And by the time Benoit passed 2 years later I was pretty much done watching WWE in a full time manager. I would still check in every once in a blue moon but for the most part I wasn’t interested in the product anymore. Those deaths, Austin and Rock leaving and them shoving and overrated wrestler down my throat(cough Cena cough) my interest was gone. Rip to Eddie and thank you for all the entertainment you gave us. 🙌🏾

Eddie Guerrero v The Rock is severely underrated. That episode of Raw built around this sudden match, preceeded by a brilliant back and forth promo between the two. That was a great week of television just because of this night long angle. Arguably the night Eddie started becoming main event level. He was brilliant in 02 though, came back and put on clinics with RVD, was supposed to get a match with Austin who unfortunately walked out, had that great night with Rock and then on to Smackdown Six history.

Still mad we never got a eddie guerrero vs bret hart in wcw. There's a lot of eddie guerrero dream matches. Eddie vs hbk made sense especially when you look at the previous mania. Wm 20 kurt angle vs eddie, wm 21 hbk vs kurt angle. So wm 22 you got eddie vs hbk. And i have no doubt they would have torn it up. There backgrounds as smaller guys climbing the mountain. Both had demons they over came and both are some of the absolute best in the business the story writes itself. Eddie along with gbk, bret hart, kurt angle are on my mount rushmore of best technical Wrestlers of all time along with a few others. But eddie like hbk really could do it all. One of my favorite eddie matches is him vs the rock for the wwe championship on raw. One because it involves two of my a time favorites Wrestlers. Two it was a once in a life time match. Third they surprisingly worked very well together. Fourth gave us one of the greatest counters to a rock bottom I've ever seen.

Eddie's life and career is Biopic through and through, came from famous family, and made himself a rep in his younger years. Came up the ranks in ECW and WCW before breaking out. Came over to WWF and made a mark in mid-card before his drug addictions etc. led to his release. Got himself clean and made his return to WWE, where he rose and won the main title 2 years later. Entertained fans with his lie, cheat and steal gimmick and excellent ring work. Then just a year later thanks to the steroid he did earlier in his career. He passed and left a massive void for the entire wrestling community and fanbase. One that is still there today.
