I always subconsciously compare Sting and Undertaker to each other. Both are nice guys, hard workers for the business, both have dark gimmicks, both had insanely long careers and both always stood out as cornerstones of their respective rosters while eras and faces of companies changed. While Undertaker stood with WWE, Sting was opposite and always enhanced the roster of rival companies. Sting is absolute goat, his last run in AEW with Darby was special. Ah, the dream match between the two we never get..

I didn't grow up watching Sting, and he's not my favorite wrestler of all time, BUT I nearly teared up when watching his last match at AEW Revolution, especially during his video and entrance prior to the match, so I can't imagine how emotional it must be for those who grew up and love Sting.

Sting is THE reason I got into pro wrestling. Late night ITV in the UK in 1990 were showing WCW Worldwide & with the supreme luxury of my own portable TV in my bedroom (I was 13) I randomly caught an episode during which The Dangerous Alliance were beating down Sting in an angle that I thought needed someone to call the police to break up - oh the horror!! Shortly after that I had saved some paper round money so bought a VHS copy of Starrcade 89 - Futureshock specifically because Sting was on the cover. After watching it through I was a full-on Sting fan from that moment on. Thank you Sting and enjoy your well-earned retirement ❤️

I will forever cherish being able to see Sting live at AEW All In, and starting a TNA chant in my section when he stared off against Christian Cage! I may not have seen a lot of Sting's career pre-AEW, but the bits I've seen either in AEW or through video retrospectives like OSW have shown me how great a career he had. I only started watching wrestling in 2005, so I had no idea who he was, but I was a big fan of Christian, and when he went to TNA I started watching it too, when Sting showed up I became an instant fan of him. In the four states I lived in as a youngster, I was the only one in my schools that was familiar with Sting. Any wrestling fan I encountered would ask me about Sting and all of a sudden, they had a new favorite wrestler to embrace, right along with me; in addition, I was able to make friends when I wasn't sure if I was worthy of having friends. Being able to see him go from spiked blonde hair and bright neon colors to dark brown hair and solid dark colors felt like receiving a present all year round. Sting, you have earned everything that you have received! Thumbs up on a career worth having!!!!

And unlike the Undertaker, the last half of Sting’s run isn’t marred by shortsighted booking decisions or poor planning that his equivalent suffered before his final match. In the case of Sting, him coming out of retirement for one more run in AEW was actually a smart decision that benefited everyone involved and also something to wash away the taste of his underwhelming WWE run that caused his first retirement. Though, I had been under the assumption AEW: All Out 2023 was to be his last outing. Big event, big crowd, big bow out.

Ive literally been a fan of Sting through all his incarnations. Literally from 1991-2024. The only Sting I never experienced was when he was with the blade runners with Jim Hellwig and thats only because I was not born yet lol. But thanks to KZbin, Ive got to experience those matches, too. Even when I was a die hard WWF fan during the monday night wars constantly arguing with my WCW friends on the bus ride to school, I would still turn to Monday night nitro hoping to get a glimpse of Sting. He's the only wrestler I can think of that I honestly liked every single gimmick of his. From surfer sting, to the crow, to the joker.. Im a little Stinger for life. I was never nostalgic for Sting. As a child I never even heard of him and I only learnt who he was when I got back into wrestling in 2022. Even still I was a bit emotional on his retirement match. I've thoroughly enjoyed how he was portrayed and booked in AEW and watching Reliving the War gives me so much insight in what Sting has accomplished. I barely watched wrestling since about 2022 or so, so it's been at least a year and a half that I've been out of the loop, but there was a PPV match about that time, or two years ago, where Sting did this insane high spot, and I had to give it to him, he's 60+ and he did that. He was still pretty good right up until the end, he knew what he could and couldn't do, he was never going to go on some insane singles run where the camera is focused on him the whole time, he kept a shirt on so we didn't have to see his old man bod, lots of his matches were no rules or brawls, so he could work at a pace, but he had some pretty interesting matches with Darby mainly. I respect the hell out of him, he's always been one of my favorites, along with Taker, Austin, Bret, and Rocky. Glad I got to see most of it.

I discovered pro wrestling in about 1984 when I was 10 years old. It was mostly the local territory stuff that was accessible then. But on Sundays Crockett show was played in my area. I didn't even discover WWF until a few years later. So I had the pleasure of watching Sting since he was pretty much brave new. I didn't really have a "favorite" wrestler even I first started watching. But that changed when Sting came along. He was my first favorite wrestler and gave me decades of entertainment and joy. All i can say at this point is - Thank you Sting!
