Just found the oldish 3-DVD-set of The Attitude Era tucked away. So good when Russo/Ferrara/VinnieMac were on point. Offensive? Sometimes. Being offended then wasn't a thing (Gasp! Shocker!!!) - no really, no one ever said "That offends me" back then. Thank social media 2009ish for that.
@JaniceTZ2 жыл бұрын
I gotta disagree with that. I think that it was more due to the fact that there was no social media around so we weren't aware of it as much, but it was definitely out there. Case in point like stated in the video, Right To Censor being created solely in response to the outrage from The Parents Television Council or whatever it was called. Plus obviously most of us were so young during that time that it was something we as kids or teens never really cared about or paid much attention to. I know at least me personally, who was in my late teens during the Attitude Era, had no clue about the reason for Right To Censor being created ya know? Now we constantly know about every single insignificant "outrage" due to people feeling like they have to post about it on social media 24/7 🙄

@extremepop3242 жыл бұрын
@@jp3813 That makes no sense lol. Ruthless aggression era is not the attitude era. Attitude era was wrestling's most successful era cause it was the most badass action. Ruthless aggression era sucked because of John Cena being shoved down our faces, remember the endless boos? Die hard fans weren't behind him, and the company itself was becoming more corporate and less tough and gritty with less characters and badass storylines. And yes another attitude era can easily be made.. it's art. Any kind of wrestling can be made.. clown comedy wrestling, attitude era wrestling, homosexual wrestling, weird fetish wrestling.. all what matters is if the art director and owners want to make a attitude era-ish project or not. Which they don't want to. They refuse to.
@jp38132 жыл бұрын
@@extremepop324 Ruthless Aggression ratings declined WAY before Cena got into the main event, and Triple H was the one who was shoved down people's throats. 2002 was when horrible storylines like Katie Vick was written in a desperate effort to keep the attitude. Further devolving later on into segments like 3 Minute Warning beating the hell out of two random "lesbians" for shock value, stripping Al Wilson down to his underwear in the middle of the ring, Kane electrocuting Shane's testicles, etc... They kept on trying to recapture that attitude magic but they couldn't.
