As a Mexican, I can confirm that our version of Santa Claus doesn't live in the clouds with Merlin and all the other things. The filmmakers made it all up. It's a typical Mexican movie from the 50s to 80s that tended to have everything and the kitchen sink in them and a long running time.

They shot a boat on a studio green screen indoors with flat lighting and it's supposed to look like it's on the water. Plus it was a rush job kinda show too. Yuck.

I weirdly remember owning Christmas Vacation 2 through most of my later childhood. It existed in our dvd cupboard for years but we never actually watched it because the first was our easy pick for Christmas viewing. It's probably still in that cupboard
