I felt bad watching oz, one of the guards was getting scouted by the Sacramento kings after playing a game with an nba star prisoner played by Rick fox. The prisoners were all betting on the game so a guy sliced his Achilles before the rematch and gave him a permanent limp. He had to keep working at the prison and he got placed on desk duty because he couldn’t move that good

0:56 this is my absolute favorite gag in the whole movie and no one ever talks about. After all that speech, it cuts to Kip and he wasn't even listening. I love it and I love how subtle it is. Any other comedy would have had Rico pointing out that Kip isn't even listening, over doing the gag. I love this movie!

As silly as this movie is, the actor that plays Uncle Rico is absolutely amazing. I mean he’s crazy talented in the way that you actually BELIEVE that his character is a real person. Those eyes at 0:50 just dreaming into the mountain range. I mean when do we see this sort of acting really? Ridiculous film (I loved it!) but completely underrated acting by these pros.

@usnationalist8150 2 жыл бұрын
ThePatriots010304: There really are a lot of people like that who were screwed in highschool. Many small towns have names where their kids starts no matter what. I didn’t play QB In highschool because I was a WR (lead the whole wpial in WR) but the QB who did start was only starting because his name...we had way better QB’s than him but the coach was never going to take him out. So for every small town it probably has happened at least once where a back up could of drawn scouts and got a full ride. The town I’m in has had 3 pro football players come from our team in the past 10 years because they got a different coach who cares less what someone’s name is. The next town over (5 minutes away) has produced some nfl legends like Ty Law, Tony Dorsett and I know I’m forgetting someone. The next town up from there is where Mike Dicka went to school and played, plus right across the river is where Joe Namath played. We have had a lot of HOF’ers in my area.

Everyone in this film was perfectly cast. The couple he was selling the 24 piece set to were great. And his wife. “I want that.” And how does the dealio sound?

One of the most underrated scenes is the free “mini sailboat” gift with the purchase of the 24 piece set of tubaware. It’s like offering a free dollhouse with the purchase of a set of cookware. Pure comedic genius.

I saw this movie in theaters in 2004 when I was 11 years old and I remember thinking how sad and funny Uncle Rico was. Little did I know that, for many years, 2004 itself would end up being for me what '82 was for him. But these past couple years I've really come around and come into my own in a way that surpasses even that time. Don't ever think it's too late to rise again or that your best time has to be in your past, people. Life's too precious to peak early without a fight.

The message of this movie is to be true to yourself Napoleon is true to himself and gets the girl and impresses the school Kim is true to himself and gets the girl Rico wants to be someone else and it causes him trouble, when realistically he's a brilliant salesman and could have done well if he believed in his own strengths

The nuanced acting of the door to door sale is scarily good. The way the husband TRIES to rip the bowl with all his might while his wife silently judges his inability to do so, despite the fact that the entire point is that the bowl should be unrippable. Just incredible.
