If you don't have HDR enabled in your display settings you are missing out. I am awestruck at the black of the black. My display supports every type of HDR on the market, I guess youtube only supports HDR, maybe there is another codec I need.

I moved from a 1080p Samsung phone to Sony and it was a very big difference. And the 4k is not on all the time, only when you need or want it too, so having that option is nice to have.

My 6700XT can play this perfectly smooth at 4K HDR (I have an HDR monitor) using around 75% of my GPU's Video Decoder. In HWiNFO64, I have 2x Video Decoders (GPU Video Decode 1 and GPU Video Decode 2). It only uses the GPU Video Decode 1 and the usage is 75-76%. No dropped frames. Not sure which videos use the other decoder. That said.... 8K pushes it to 100% and I drop right around half the frames lol. I wonder if the GPUs like the AMD 7800XT/XTX or 7900 series play it smoothly with a better decoder or if any of the Nvidia 4000 series have better decoders. OR if there is a better ENCODER that would allow my GPU to smoothly play it. I guess I could download it at full quality and use Handbrake to change the encoder used and see if I could find a more efficient encoder that would work better with my GPU. Anyone else able to play this on their PC at 8K HDR without dropping any frames (use stats for nerds to see if you are getting 8K HDR for sure and aren't dropping any frames by right clicking on the video and clicking Stats for Nerds.) It is beautiful. Gotta love HDR.

One very big problem with this video is that it is not filmed under natural light. Everything is very brightly lit with artificial light so it emphasizes the objects. If you look at an apple on your counter it is not going to look the same with a 1000W bulb illuminating it. It is filmed to look amazing but it is artificial and consequently lacking in realism and not credible.

When I wanna’ flex for my buddy or remind myself why I buy REAL, branded TV’s from LG or Sony and not that Wal-Mart garbage like a 75” for $749. To my eyes, this content jumps off the screen into almost three dimensions.
