Over the last few years, Swathi Delicacy Koppa has emerged as the most popular destination on this stretch of NH 75, also referred to as the Mangalore highway, and its recent renovation should help preserve its draw amongst travellers on the route. Swati was the only restaurant which had opened its doors to us while we were working in kunigal GH . We doctors used to visit there fr any occasions , the icecreams were jus fabulous especially the presentation . Little 🏖️ v used to get on top . Gud old days .

We frequently travel to our home town near Hassan, and our first choice is Swathi Delicacy for their best food and ambience. Now that Pakashala has also come up and it will be our alternate choice and of course Dhurva Tare is also on our hit list.

Good morning dear Kripal - It’s always wonderful to watch the gorgeous couple on a super special Sunday Vlog 👍👍 Agree you never say “no” to Butter , Ghee or Thuppa but with “Boss” being around better to be a tad careful 😀 The renovation of Swathi Delicacy has been done quite well 👌 Seems to be quite busy in the non A/C section . So sweet of you to prefer sitting in the open so that you could have your usual chat with the customers 🙏🙏 Wow that’s a scrumptious spread of breakfast on the table 😋😋 Shree Mam going in for Idli , Vada and One Poori offered by dear Kripal in return for half a crispy Vada 😀👍 The size of Pooris are also quite large 👍 This is a typical breakfast which even I love ; Idli , Vada , Dosa , Poori Masala and some coffee. What’s the difference between a Palya and a Sagoo ? Is Sagoo a watery version of the Palya . In Mumbai , which you are aware of , we get a masala which is semi thick . If it’s a spicy masala I love it , especially with the Poori . Post that episode with Chandru Sir , I have also started having the Poori with the combo of chutney and Masala ( it truly amps up the flavour ) 😋 Yes Kripal , I was surprised as to why you didn’t start with the Idli , Vada ; however now got the answer . Wow that’s a crisp Rava Onion Dosa and am super drooling 🤤. Usually “Boss” is quite humble with her review but when she said “Exceptionally good and I have never tasted anything like this before” it truly reiterates the quality of dishes served by SD 👍👍 Thanks a bunch dear Kripal for your detailed explanation of the Rava Onion Dosa 🙏 No vlogger can ever match your standards of being the voice of the dish , it’s as if the RO Dosa is speaking to us and requesting a us to have a bite 😀 Loved the look on your face when you mentioned to Shree Mam that though the Kesari Ba’ath is an indulgence you are having it so as not to make the owner feel bad. 😀😀😀 Boss didn’t buy it but you are happy and that make me super happy 😃. Apparantly ...The history of the iconic dosa is very interesting. Though it’s certain that the dish has it’s roots in south India but the exact place of birth of this dish is still under debate. According to the historian P. Thankappan Nair, the dosa came to us from the town of Udupi in Karnataka. However, the food historian and nutritionist K. T. Achaya refutes this Udupi town origination story by claiming that according to ancient Cankan literature the dosa was already in use way back in the 1st century AD in the “ancient Tamil territory” which is present-day Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, Lakshadweep island and southern parts of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. But what strengthens the theory that the dosa originated in Udupi, Karnataka, was the fact that the recipe for this dish can be found in the 12th century Sanskrit text “Manasollasa”, compiled by the Chalukya ruler Someshvara III who ruled over a part of Karnataka. So the dosa became famous and an important part of the Tuluva Mangalorean Udupi cuisine of South India

You know what...i watched this episode on a bigger screen (my laptop) just so that i could vicariously enjoy the breakfast along with Mr Amanna and Ms Sridevi...one of your best productions ever, Sir...not just in terms of the choice of restaurant but also for the way you converse with your better half....i hang on to every expression of yours and the lavish praise you heap on the food you eat...as someone who cooks almost every day i wish people acknowledge, even in the sligtest of ways, the effort that goes behind every meal...never once have i felt that u praise the food out of compulsion...your expressions say it all...the people working away in the smouldering kitchens of the eateries must be shown your videos too by their managers..Ms Sridevi's reactions are genuine too.understated with a touch of shyness..but never fake...i thoroughly enjoyed the episodes you did along with her at Amritsar and Mumbai..where i could sense that level of comfort between you and her...stay this blessed forever...kudos to you for bringing joy to our lives..may your childlike enthusiasm for food and people remain intact forever..

Kripal says everthing related as south canara and manglore! in fact karnataka style sambhar is always a slight sweeter one due to addition of Jaggery unlike tamilnadu and andhra belt. People like you should not bifurcate demographies within a state and promote as karnataka as such.

Dear Sri Amanna and Shrijee, This video of Swathi restaurant t is extremely beautiful. I had seen the original episode and am delighted to watch this episode. The good looks really tasty and the spoons were sparking so nicely that even the fan was literally reflecting on the stainless steel spoon while the Halwava was being served and the camera person did a lovely job catching it. Also do try “mayura “rest..just before belluru cross..our usual stopover on route to sakleshpura ..swathi is great place too..Bellur cross was the traditional stopover for buses..this places preserves that 90s taste..coffee is a bomb
