I don't recommend turning them all off if you can. Otherwise your game looks like shit. Here's what I'd go with: World Tile Buffers: Epic to High View Distance: Epic to High Anti aliasing: Medium to Low Post Processing: Medium to Low General Shadows: Medium to Low Terrain Shadows: Low Textures: Epic to High Ground clutter destiny and distance: To the lowest option slider all the way to left Mesh level detail: Lowest option, slider all the way to left. The only boxes I'd tick are: High Quality Antistrophic Filtering, screen space ambient occlusion, distance field shadowing, sub surface scattering, high quality LOD's, and color grading

Thank you! I was getting sub 30fps using a R7 2700X + 3070TI. Only thing I changed was having Screen Space Ambient Occlusion on, and I'm getting 65-70fps, without lowering the resolution scale.

Going from almost everything on epic to doing everything in this video including -sm4 and -dx10, I went from 42 to 49 fps on crystal isles on an rtx2070s/ryzen 5 5600x. Amazing.

ive got new problem. I play game -> game runs smooth 120-160 fps. I open discord games runs smooth until i move my mouse. every time i move my mouse to fast the game starts lagging and freezing. i close discord and no lagging or freezing. i open it again it starts all over again. this has nothing to do with the video but if u got an idea what causes the problem let me know or any1 who sees this 👍thx

While this worked, you're essentially running the game on potato mode. I have a 5900x and 3080 Ti. I SHOULDN'T need to drop this game to ultra low just to see 70-90 FPS. Wildcard is such hot garbage. I really hope this level of optimization isn't needed to run ARK 2. Thanks for the walkthrough.

@@CDuff86 So oddly im running a 3070 16gb ram, on a fairly new intel cpu, ark is located on a ssd. I play single player with 30 mods, mainly mods adding new content dinosaurs/ect. I have 144hz monitor 1080p but was upscaling to 4k, for a long time I was hitting 60+ fps, then after about 20 hours of gameplay the game literally dropped frames everywhere, and was really stressing the temps on my cpu. I am going to agree I think this and an engine issue, not a PC issue.

i managed to get ARK for free. My pc specs are I3-3220 cpu AMD radeon HD 7700(1GB Vram) GPU 8GB of RAM These are below the steam minimum listed requirements and im supprised i can even run the game at 1960x1080 resolution on lowest settings with a solid 30-60 fps. From what ive heared the game is really unoptimised but from my experiecne its been runny very well even better than minecraft somehow

when setting truskyquality etc to 0 in the ini file, my game just crashes on launch mentioning "insizex" assertion error. modifying that to 1 fixes the problem.

I have a OC 6600 xt and I get around 100-120fps on all max settings, so yes you'll definitely be able to get insane FPS with a 4090 lol you'd probably get like 200+ fps on all max settings if your GPU is well optimized

@Reefer Yeah, that was the problem, and Idk how to stop overheating. I can only play like 1 hour and a half staying in the base, and if I wanna fly somewhere, it will crash even faster. So I have no idea how i can normally complete ark relaxed and not think that i have to leave ark so my pc can cool down

@@notdaniics temporary solution would be to keep your case open while playing ark. If that isn't enough, put a fan in front of your pc. You might have to get a better cpu cooler and add more system fans. Try asking people you know, they might have a better input on your overheating problem.

Hi, thanks for the guide. I've been playing with my wife on a dedicated server that I have setup on my machine. We've been playing for days, when suddendly while playing she got kicked out with a timeout error, and we tried public official server as well, and same result. The map is fjordur. Her computer has 16Gb of ram, and a 1080gtx cpu - i7-7700 Would this be a problem with the computer not handling the map? I thought the timeout error was due to networking. That been said, I will try these settings to see if it fixed the problem.

It sounds more to me like her pc is dropping connection breifly. I'd check her motherboard website under the support tab for updated wif and Lan drivers. I was dealing with something similar the other day with Battlefield and it turned out when I setup dns settings on my router, I forgot to take the same dns settings off from windows within the network adapter - causing my game to drop connection.

@@TabsAnDabs Thanks for the reply, I don't think that was the problem. As she was only crashing on the new map - fjordur - in our private dedicated server, or public servers. We decided to serve "the island" and we have been playing for 20+ hours, and not one crash. Could it be fjordur is a resource hog and a 7700HQ+1080mobile can't deal with? I won't think it's the difference port I used for our dedicates server, and I said she would crash on the public servers as well after some minutes in the fjordur map. Maybe the i7-7700HQ can't really work well with it?
