I use a couple of copper pennies beneath the damp sponge in my Sta-Wet pallet and it works very well to deter mold.

You can also use distilled water in the sponge and use a drop or two of clove oil to keep it fresh for the stay wet palette.

I love your glass palette, will be keeping an eye out on garbage day for an old glass table top 😉

Thank you! I use acrylic and the fancy wood palette I bought just sucked up my paint and I couldn't wash it off very well. This other one I had was like particle board with plastic coating, real flimsy was hard to wash off as well. I grabbed an old ceramic plate and it is awesome. I soak it under water for a few minutes and it peels right off like your glass. Although it'd be nice to have a glass top work area. Thank you again.

Greetings from Montréal, Québec, Canada !!! Coming accross your beb site for the first time and love you advice !!! You have talked about lots of different 'Palettes' but did not mention WHAT KIND OF GLASS you have used for your palette ? Surely it is 'TEMPERED-GLASS' !?! Have a great week and stay healthy !!! Cheers !!!

Hi and thanks for your video, I really need to know why you need any coloured palette. You said the light gray is too light. What would be the best colour ?

I was wondering about Lighting, for studio, a good set up for painting and maybe in the future taking photos of work when completed how you deal with it? Thankyou

Instead of a glass palette, can I use an old porcelain (or perhaps ceramic, Im not sure) plate I have lying around, to mix acrylic paint? Can I just wipe it off when Im done, or would it be difficult to remove the paint? Im not planning on leaving the paint there to dry, I work really small, on a sketchbook, for therapeutic purposes, and I will be pouring just the amount needed for a particular small painting.

Could you place the glass palette into a closable container with water filled sponge to keep the paint moist for a day or two?
@shlime93 жыл бұрын
I dont think thatll keep the paint wet, try a slow drying medium for acrylics, or put the whole glass palette in the freezer that works really well for me :)

The paper that comes with the stay wet palette are too thick for acrylics imo.
