Johnny appleseed park is iconic. Definitely a tourist attraction for the Memorial Coliseum nearby. Lindendwood Park is a little less known. It is across from the cemetery, which itself has beautiful trails and scenery as well. They actually host the boy scout troops in Fort Wayne. It really brings you back to nature to walk through. The main trail leads back to a secluded pond with so much active wildlife. It's also a mushroom habitat, and even boasts guides to identify local fungi. My 3rd park would be Franke Park. The children's zoo and foellinger theater in the area mean there's always something going on. The play areas there are top notch for the kids. The autumn foliage surrounding the park is amazing. On the subject of parks in fort wayne, it's worth mentioning the miles and miles of trails that run the length of the city. It's amazing how private the St. Mary's trail can feel at times in such a large Metropolitan city.
