Hey Trevor, I’m not sure if you’ll see this but I actually took your putting tip. I had a my first MA3 Tournament Sept 30th (12 days after this video was released) and completely broke down my form to get the same grip you use. I ended up winning the tournament and I don’t think I would have won it if I didn’t stumble upon this video so thank you!

Love the tip about feeling the disc before buying. The last disc I bought without feeling it was the thunderbird and while I liked its flight, I hated its rim, especially for forehands and now I just don't throw it. Every time I'm at a proper shop I looove to feel all the plastics and rims. That lat 64 royal grand plastic is AMAZING

Great tips, Trevor. I''m enjoying the channel. (A shortcut for the first few tips is to play catch with a putter with a friend as part of your warm up. If you're newer to the game, play catch even more frequently. You'll figure out your thumb positioning, learn the fan grip, and will develop a touch forehand.)

Really appreciate how the tips were deliberately ordered to match the holes you were playing (especially the first 4 in particular) to give them context and make it that little bit more meaningful. Hand feel is a massive thing for me, completely agree with that, if I don't like the feel of a disc and I bought it online or got in a player pack it doesn't go in my bag. Love all the tips, lots I know about, but even just hearing them re-iterated or explained in a slightly different way is still a great reminder to get me thinking about some of those things again.

Thanks for these videos. Great content, please keep them coming. So tips 1 and 9...i put with my finger in the way, and have been since Covid...when i started. I am a pretty solid putter. I really like what feels like 3 points of contact kn the putter...top, front and under. Finger under the disc thows everything off...im a casual once a week golfer, with 30 minutes a week to practice. Would you (or others in the comments) make the switch or follow rule 9? Thanks!

After 20 years of DG I changed to a putt grip with finger ON the lip. I've begun to use a fan grip under and finger on edge, for last 2 seasons. My putting USED to be either a lob shot or spin throw. Now I use the fingertip for most my putting that is

Learning to like the pressure reminds me of Alex Honnold, the climber. He's been asked about handling fear and his response was something like: the body reaction for fear and excitement is similar, so you can reframe it in your mind into excitement.

Learn how to enjoy pressure is such a solid advice, that could help alot of players. i tried my first tournaments this year, and was playing better than any rounds i do with friends, because i enjoyed that little "Pressure". and most of my card mates would be playing 4-6 strokes worse than normal rounds. So i even got 3rd in my second tournament, without being rated yet. specially putting just the fact that it ment something helped me. I think because i played Football on a pro Youth level so there was pressure in every match, trying to get the contract. which you learn to grow with and enjoy :)

Learning how to throw a forehand has been one of the biggest obstacles for me. I've gotten to the point where I can throw them but not reliably and I tend to be one of those that hides behind using the stability of discs still, but the tip about slowing the wrist down was paramount for me and I still have to remind myself from time to time to slow it down. Great video, Trevor and please count me in for the giveaway! Thanks!

Great practical advice! Would love a video on course management. I have conversations with newer players and it blows my mind when they've never thought of "playing the percentages" or "playing for the good miss" when choosing what shot to throw.

Yes - that would be great. Never forget the day my then 14 year old won his first big tournament. Final hole - 2 shot lead - he pulls a putter out, when he had parked the hole other days with a mid. I kind of looked at him a bit funny, but he goes with it and his throw is 60 feet short - but easy upshot - tap in for 2 shot win. I asked him about it later and he said "the mid could have reached the OB golf green [which was left of the disc golf green], but the putter couldn't so I threw short". I learnt something about course management right there!
