There are plenty more women's perfumes I enjoy, and even some mens fragrances I think are feminine... so I might make another one at some point! - If anyone wants me to review any of these, let me know!
@FragranceView7 жыл бұрын
Never tried that one! Reading about it, I am not sure that is my personal taste though, it sounds like it's got an obvious Mint note.. The idea of Mint and Rose is a little odd? but it might be nice! If I ever see it in a shop, I'll smell it.. unique easy to remember bottle!

Sorry for commenting on this older video but I just rewatched it. I truly believe that often times a fragrance is found attractive because the person who is wearing it is perceived as such. I had a signature scent when I met my boyfriend wayyyy back then and about one year in our relationship I switched it up. When we were in the middle of breaking up 7 years later I bought a bottle of my old discontinued signature on Ebay and wore it when we met to have a final conversation about everything (see, that’s how desperate I was). My Ex was never interested in perfumes, never knew what I was wearing and almost never complimented me on how I smell. Until this day. He almost fainted, couldn’t stop smelling on me and telling me how beautiful I was and all that. I mean obviously it didn’t solve any of our problems and it all didn’t work out in the end but that’s just to illustrate how strong our subconscious mind connects scents with memories and feelings. I think that’s how it works and not really the other way round... so it’s true, wear whatever you like, when he falls in love with you then your perfume will be one of the most beautiful things he ever smelled in his life 😌

I put on Kazimi right after your description of it. Dang it man, you get better and better every video! lol. I definitely agree with all the niche choice, I surprising don't like a lot of the lighter designers, I find that they can be very similar a lot of the time. One of my other favorite niche for woman is Hummingbird, I fall head over heals for that one :D PS: that ending though. The emotions lol
@FragranceView7 жыл бұрын
A lot do smell the same / very similar, a few of these are very much in the same vein, with similar notes, but those particular ones are my favourites, a lot tend to feel cheaper smelling or too sweet, these ones are pretty to me! Hummingbird is nice, I don't love it though, I bought it my big sister for her 40th birthday this year

I just found your videos today! I've become interested in making my own fragrance. I visited the Fragonard Museum in Paris and became enamored with the idea of making perfume. Uuh yess, i have the original EdP, EdT and the le eclat EdP, EdT version by the la vie est belle... Its a really nice dna, the orange blossom star in designer fragrances, 1 -2 spritzs and it should be enough, its just overloaded with that sweetness, but it lasts forever!;) Almost all of the man's i showed la vie est belle,Juicy coiture (noir and gold one;) love this cotton candy fragrances (but maybe its just the orange blossom;), for wearing it on myself, its to strong for me besides for a night out... Very nice video, like your way to share your passion :) glG from austria, katharina :*

Peter, this isn't related to this video but I don't have your e-mail and I hope you see this. Since I've developed an interest in fragrances and perfumery, seeing the great variety of plant and animal scents that are used in various compositions, I recall a fruit I loved when I lived in Colombia, known in English as the sapodilla, in Spanish as níspero, botanical name Manilkara zapota. Its strong, suggestive aroma, somewhere between sweet, musky and dry-"sandy," "beachy," sorta-has always intrigued me and I wonder if it has been used in the perfume industry and if not, would you research it? Just an idea. If it becomes a hit fragrance, can I get a commission? Or at least a sample... Great channel, by the way.

Hi Peter! Very beautiful video. And a very good summary of your thoughts at the end of the video. My girlfriend and I will sneak through all the perfumes. Perhaps we fall in love with one? Satin Mood, Ivory Route and Kazimi I already have. At the moment, my girlfriend is excited by MFK's Aqua Celestia, it is simply beautiful, but not sexy, I think. Wish you all the best, all friend. @ulyanaheward9324 жыл бұрын
You and I seem to have a very similar type of old factory affinities, hence it’s really useful in a practical sense to watch your reviews. MFK Oud Satin Mood is one of my favorites- i plan on getting a FB closer to fall. Have you ever smelled Initio Oud for Greatness? It’s not as sweet as the MFK version, but man, it’s so sexy. I would never need another Oud if I had those 2. Initio also has a scent called Rehab. Oh, it’s amazing, def getting a FB. I watched you P de Marly review and it was interesting. I have samples of Delina and Meliora. Delina I hate with a passion, it smells screechy and just not for me. Meliora I do like, still debating on a FB. I was looking for a black currant scent, but not so green like VP Enchanted Forest where it’s barely recognizable, it’s , more like currant bush. I want to find black currant fruit with a little leaf and sweet but not jammy. Do you have any recommendations? Have you ever smelled YSL In Love Again? I heard that one has a nice black currant note... I will have to give the Burberry scents another try, you describe them so well. I normally don’t really like anything from the designer side of things. I own Guerlain Anelique Noire- it’s a such a different but comforting vanilla. Def not main stream. I really wanted to like Gourmand Coquin, but the Booz part of it I think comes off a bit on the sour side for my nose. Not sure what it is, but it’s just not wowing me. One of my favorite vanillas is a recent acquisition - Atelier des Ors L’une Féline. Def a cold season scent. I have a sample of Ivory rout... really smokey, didn’t expect that. Jury is still out on that one. Dior Blooming Bouquet is one of my most loved frags, I own a bottle, BUT it lasts all of 5 min on my skin. I literally just spray my sheets with it. For me to wear it, I have to spray my clothing all over just to squeeze a couple of hours of very soft wafts. Just got a sample of Coco Blanc. I thought it would be an instant love, but either it’s too complex to evaluate on the first spray or .... I didn’t even get any sweetness, didn’t recognize vanilla. Strange. I will have to commit and wear it for a day just to let my nose see what’s what .

Use to love Armani code when was younger than started working at body shop. You have to wear the body shop fragrance when you work there so I Started wearing love because made by the same nose as the creator of code. That was very strong for me but others paid attention when I wore it. Or the white musk perfume oil. Then I fell in live with ananya now love and ananya are both Discontinued. Working there made me want to be a nose. I stumbled a across this video because I want to make a perfume from my Daphne flowers before the blossom die off. Thanks enjoyed this.

Wonderful video! I would like to get your opinion on: Guerlain Mitsouko, Xerjoff Al Khatt, and Coromandel by Chanel. I won't be offended if you don't like them. I just like getting other people's take on fragrances. Another great rose fragrance imo is Aramis Calligraphy Rose...a mainly rose, lavender and sweet myrrh scent.
@FragranceView7 жыл бұрын
I have a vintage 40 year old bottle of Mitsouko, I think you can tell it's a little dated, but it's ok.. I have to be honest Al Khatt is one of the very worst fragrances, I've ever tried in my entire life.. It smells like diarrhoea after you've had food poisoning... like watery floods of poop. It's quite revolting! But Sergio Momo has a few of those stinkers, he uses very dirty varieties of Indian Oud. - I've never smelled Coromandel! or Calligraphy Rose! I'll have to test them out! One of my friends owns and loves the Calligraphy Rose though
@mrspress80577 жыл бұрын
FragranceView I absolutely love calligraphy rose, give a sniff and see what you think. I too have not tried Coromandel, but I think I would love it. Mitsouko of course seems dated by today's sugar sweet trends, but to me it's amazing, one of my favorites...though I've never tried the vintage...I'm sure it's changed. And Al Khatt, lol, it is the dirty oud and, I can see why other people would not like it, but if not for the price, I would get a FB...I think it's sexy as hell!! Too me the oud is enough to make it skanky, but not overly so. But I like some skank in perfumes sometimes...Bal A Versallies perfume, Boudoir, Shalimar, all a little skanky all in my collection, lol. I used to have D' Zing, which is skanky, but turns too medicinal in heat, so it had to go! Love your channel, keep up the good work!
@FragranceView7 жыл бұрын
My tip for you is to check out Oudh Infini by Dusita... it's natural Rose de May with Oud from Laos mixed with Civet, which gives it a barn yard skank to it... lots of people are loving it at the moment.
@mrspress80577 жыл бұрын
FragranceView I had planned on getting a sample after your video on Dusita! Sounds like it would be amazing!
@mrspress80577 жыл бұрын
I just got my sample of Oud Infini...that is more poopy barnyard than I can handle. Smells like a dog that has rolled around in a cow pasture. I will definitely pass!!! Al-Khatt is nowhere near that dirty and fecal.

molly44 I went to an art exhibition at Leighton House museum and it was sponsored by Jo Malone - they had placed diffusers of red roses beside the main painting that was the linchpin of the exhibition - the roses of Heliogabalus. It always reminds me of the happy memories of that day. I wish more exhibitions integrated scents into their displays. I really like Wild Bluebell by Jo Malone. A little heady sometimes but beautifully soft at others.

What perfume do you relate,to a red head? Auburn never is one of your choices. Either blonde or brunette. Red heads are a very specific genre. What do you think? Strangely my signature scent now is oud satin mood.

Oud Satin Mood would work nicely, Serge Luten - Chergui comes to mind also Serge Luten - Arabie

I would love to see an updated version of this video, or maybe even two, one for designer and the other for niche fragrances. Maybe a little heavy on the designer one because I'm in Iceland and the market here for niche fragrances is miniscule 😂 also, no mention of redheads?? 😭😅

Hi pter. I persoanlly prefer niche revies but i think that it would be nice if you included in your channel some designer reviews but only those that are worth checking out (i.e. Issey miyakes nuit d'ambre and some others like that)...i mean, masterful designer fragrances that can be even better than many of the niche fragrances that are in the market.

lol don't worry about it! I agree I'll stick to designers I think are worth talking about... the rest I'll leave alone!

Susanne Lang did a peony rose that was unbelievably lovely: I had a partial bottle, in very fragile glass and, it fell & shattered. I'll admit, a tear was shed as it's discontinued. I then bought Rose Pivoine by Parfums De Nicolai, which I have proceeded to misplace during my move three years ago ... yeah, need to find that. Crown Perfumery Rose is likely the most "all female" rose I've ever worn. adore! Rose Privée by L'artisan, also quite lovely: "basil, lilac, carnation, hay, magnolia, may rose, patchouli, violet leaf and amber." Never have tried D&G rose the one ... might just pick up a bottle. Because I appreciate the classics as I do, I've always loved rose. A lot of women really dislike rose ... kind of a polarizing note. do not understand, lol. Maybe, I'm weird. I'll go either very feminine or quite woodsy and masculine with my perfume loves. I love Hypnotic Poison, especially the original formula. As for NR for Her ... I'm alone here. love musk but I can't take that scent. He did a women's Musc Oil version that was to die for, but it's gone, I think. The men's Oil can be found ... it might be the same one. don't know. As for the men's NR? ... I'm crazy for the EDP and very much consider it unisex. We have NR For Him EDT, For Him EDP and a decant of the For Him EDP Intense. all fabulous! Have tried none of your Niche selections : Ivory Route was on my To Try List. but, I hate the connotation of the name, for obvious reasons. Am interested in the entire Collection Oud Mood, might help me decide if I am ever going to embrace oud. I've failed, thus far. ~thanks, loved the video, hearing your refined opinions, I've talked too much, can't help myself, kind of a HUGE interest of mine. :D

Enjoyed reading, thanks for sharing! Such a shame you dropped it!!! I would shed a tear too haha. That's funny you dislike the the women's NR but love the Men's EDP like me... I find them quite similar somehow! - I agree about the naming, of the Xerjoff it's not the best of choices... I don't get much Oud in Satin Mood, if any at all actually.. It's very well hidden! You might like it!

I loved your video. I was searching how to copy a fragrance i dearly love called Legacy 1912 . It was made to replicate a perfume that might have been on the Titanic. It was sold here in the states for a short time to promote the opening of the Titanic in pidgeon Forge, Tennessee. My absolute favorite fragrance, and they discontinued it. If she have the notes right there is hyacinth,rose,violet,orange and lemon. In what combination i don,t know. Is there anyone who analyzes fragrances? Thank you so much for your video,s. I,ve really enjoyed watching.

There's special machines that can determine what's in them and in what concentration, but they're very expensive

Yes, I've been waiting for this I love lychee and peony as well. The next bottles on my purchase list are Coco Blanc, Memoirs of a Trespasser, and Ombre Leather 16. The problem is picking which to purchase first. My collection will than be 3 designer and 3 niche unintentionally. I'm a very dark haired brunette and wear Kazmi so well done haha
@FragranceView7 жыл бұрын
Then you smell HOT. haha - those 3 are all cool, I like them..Memoirs of a Trespasser smells like the pages of an antique book, but in a really good way.. I like dry dusty vanilla's. I gave Ombre Leather a bit of a bash in my review, but only because I am a die hard Tuscan Leather fan, and I was wanting something different.. but it takes Tuscan Leather and makes it more wearable for a lot of people, so that's great.. Atelier Cologne - Oud Saphire is another great version of it, more fruity and jammy in the opening, but with the exact same smooth suede like Ombre Leather... you could check that one out, cheaper than Tom Ford! It's got more of a " WOOO " factor too with the jammy opening, but tones down in the same way with the Suede!

Use a fairly good quality camera or at least a modern smart phone, so the image quality is good. Make sure your area is well lit. If you have an area with a pretty background, do it there... and go for it!

Continuing the rose theme, what is your opinion on Stella by Stella McCartney and Bvlgari Rose Essentielle?
@FragranceView7 жыл бұрын
I've not tried that one, I am sorry! I'll check it out if I see it though!
@BlackAmberMoon6 жыл бұрын
Stella is a very natural rose/peony. Incredibly beautiful. Rose Essentielle is sweeter.

As a Bulgarian woman (most of the perfumery rose damascene oil comes from Bulgaria) I am trying to rediscover it for myself but it’s a struggle. During socialist years that was almost all women got as perfumes go and most women are a little too over it.. we love it but we seem to steer as far away as possible :)
