Lived in north SD county my entire life, I wouldn’t say Encinitas is the BEST place to live rather it is ONE OF THE BEST places to live in San Diego for sure

Not paying any state tax is the only benefit I see living in Austin. The city has homelessness, crime, traffic, & high cost of living too.

Trust me , this area is not overrated . Prices dictate demand . For those who like good air quality, low crime, clean streets , friendly people, day time temps averaging 68 , low humidity , chill and upscale atmosphere, good schools , clean and awesome beaches , healthy lifestyle with parks and trails for bikes and hike, dog friendly, need i say more. Don’t be a hater if you can’t afford

Every beach city in CA is a rich, soulless, reitiree hellhole. Great weather and scenery, but a not a place for anyone who isn't a millionaire. CA beach culture died 20 years ago.

I would guess you have never lived here, the deserts, beaches, mountains, national parks, I am continuously finding brand new places that are stunning and fun. I know people say this, but living in a beach town, I surf one day in warm sun, go to the snow the next day and ride dirt bikes in the hills or desert the next or perhaps the next weekend. No exaggerating, this is just normal lifestyle. The weather in So Cal is nearly perfect, it seems like every day it is warm and sunny, with occasional rain that you look forward to. But overrated? Challenging for anyone starting out trying to purchase a home, sure.

This is so funny, all who bash California simply can’t afford to live here or should I say can’t afford to thrive here. Simply put, they are jelly as hell and probably living in some shanty in hellhole USA
