The only way you're going to get a detached, single-family home for $800k is if it is in a bad neighborhood or at the extreme ends of the county, or is bungalow size like 1000-1200 sf. I live in east county in a 1950s built home and it is worth about $1.1 million.

The home I grew up in in La Mesa is worth $1m in today. I moved to Florida awhile back… I miss San Diego with everything in me, but the jobs pay the same here (for my line of work) as it is there. Me, my fiancé, and my baby daughter would have to be shoved into a studio or very small 1 bdrm to be paying what we pay now for a 2 bed 2 bath 1300 sqft apartment with a water front view. I’d love to come home, but it makes no sense with what things cost anymore and I hate it.

@@tvo8977I feel you, San Diego is way too expensive from what I’ve seen. I wouldn’t mind moving there. I’ve lived in Miami all my life, but in order for me to move over there, it’s going to take more than perfect weather, topography, and food. I will not lower our standard of living for any of that. I’ll put up with thunderstorms and humidity if I have to.
@tvo89773 ай бұрын
@@eddyherrera3207 I love Florida and every state has its downsides when it comes to weather and natural disasters. I still have the ocean and sunshine. It’s different but I agree, I will not sacrifice my standard of living in exchange for nice weather and never ending traffic jams. I go home to San Diego regularly, but I just can’t justify moving back until the housing market there drops if it ever does.
