The problem that since Mumbai is an island it cannot grow horizontally is not a problem at all. It is an excuse by the politicians and builder nexus to build skyscrapers, high-rise buildings and coastal roads on expensive Mumbai land and even worse bridges and roads in the ocean(e.g. Bandra-Worli sea link) to make quick and huge money at the expense of destroying nature (and its beauty), of sane living in and of sane development of Mumbai. The FSI must be fixed at 1 or less and the height of buildings must be fixed at 98 feet or less both depending on the natural underground water-table level (this will control the population explosion and keep population at the right level/square km. Using petrol and diesel vehicles is like keeping your nose before the exhaust. Not by making insane coastal roads (including bridges) in the ocean and on the beaches destroying all the open spaces (beaches) and beautiful (happiness-giving) views (the sea, the horizon, the sky, the sunset) and the underwater flora and fauna (including planktons that light up the sea at night) forming the entire seaface. The Worli Seaface is gone. Completely desecrated. There must not be any bridge in the ocean (from Bandra to Versova: Stop the desecration of Juhu Seaface with immediate effect. Save Juhu Seaface a 7 km long seaface, which is the most visited beach in Sindhusthaan, with immediate effect ) or on the beaches or shore areas or hills/mountains, to obstruct and hinder beautiful views from the beaches or from anywhere inland. There must be unobstructed, unhindered views,as there are now, (except the Bandra-Worli Sea Link plus a new addition now the coastal road which makes ugly the view from Bandra, Mahim, Worli). Hey abhi and niyu I have a suggestion, if u have any influence or contacts do try this, this is regarding to the water pollution in Yamuna river. There are certain phosphate consuming bacteria which consumes phosphates anaerobically, as we know major pollutant in Yamuna river is phosphates from industrial wastes and fertilizers, please look into this if you can. Industries can treat the waste before dumping unto the river, waste water from farming can be unified through channels which inturn connects to a treatment plant where they get treated and then released into the water.

But every time when the government ( be it Congress or BJP ) tries to implement a new law there will be backlash from the famers and the opposition govt. People in our country don't want change just because of their inconvience even if it improves the country. I am from Visakhapatnam,Andhra Pradesh. Mai ye nahi dekh sakta ki hamara Bharat ka Rajdhani ka aisa haal ho rakha hai. Iss par Union and State Government ko jald se jald Action lena chahiye warna Pollution se anth mein khatra aam jantha keliye hi hogi jo Delhi mein rehte hai aur iski wajah se hamare New Delhi ko International Level mein Embarrasment milta hai. Thank you Abhi and Niyu for discussing about this topic. Really this is a serious issue.

It is found that stubble burning in Punjab and Haryana and decreased by kinda 40% compared to previous years but the real stories resulting this was that the farmers continue to burn stubble before/after the surveillance satellite gets passed over these area after 2:30 pm. By the time of 2:30 pm they stop the activity. This can also be seen as in Delhi & Lahore the pollution broke all records inspite of reduced stubble burning issue.

Infact this year pollution level didn't even spiked due to Diwali in Delhi, u can check the records. What crackers is to Diwali pollution, Human burps are to global warming. So stop making mellow drama on crackers. Rise above this bogus narrative fuled by media. Politicians have made this an issue in their blame game since Diwali is a very easy target and Hindus don't retaliate like some people of a peaceful community.
