How on earth do we still have fusion boxes at 143 in the UK when they’ve peaked at 300 on recent US eBay solds already! As much as I want to stop buying I just can’t when they’re basically half of market price for an extremely good SWSH set that’s 3 years old. 152 boxes and counting… I weren’t expecting to get more than 20 before they sold out but here we are. Guessing it’s a case of if it looks too good to be true it usually is. Just like 151 UPCs, way too cheap at 119.99 with a free promo card worth £20+ available for ages without much demand but now they’re at a more reasonable £200+ they’re selling like hot cakes!

I agree, I think people put a little too much value in the card value of ultra modern sets. Yes, card value ultimately drives box value, but it's the quality of the card art that counts if you're holding long term. In 5 years time all of SV will be in low supply, and the value of each card will be completely different to what it is now; people won't care that the Shrouded Fable Houndoom was a $10 card in 2024, they'll see great art and want to pull it. Fusion Strike was an awful set according to a lot of the community 12-18 months ago, look at it now. What really matters is how popular are the pokemon, how good is the art. Both of these are kinda subjective, but the artwork in this era is so consistently good, I would argue there has not been a bad set in the whole generation. In terms of the specific boxes, I think there's an argument to be made for Twilight/Paldea Evolved significantly lower value booster boxes than other sets with similar average card/total set value, but they are slightly inflated and imo two of the sets most likely to be hit by reprints in 2025 (Paldea might be a bit old, but it's still in rotation for a LONG time and is pretty popular). I think we're lucky at the moment and any set on this list, excluding maybe Evo Skies/Surging Sparks (at its current price) could soar in as little as 2-3 years.
