Hoan is my favourite popper and that will never change. He is not the literal best but he is the most inspiring to me and also the one I can learn the most from without attending a workshop. Gucchon and Slim are the young OG(after the 90s) goats to me but there's too much to unpack for me to learn anything meaningful just by watching unless I was trying to bite their style which is not my definition of learning or evolving.

@@oleborn4426 "best" is one hell of a claim. That's complete ignorance. 'I don't know' that it could ever be true pre 2019. This Hoan though is on great form. So Top 3 would be more Apt for the present/judged against the scene of today. 2010-2016 absolutely not lol. 2016-2019 top tier but he doesn't make top 5 imo. He was stuck. Completely confined to technique. He had musicality but practically no groove. Great variations but no flow. He never made use of his legs other than for beatkills. His movement was incredibly limited. This event is literally the most I've seen him use his legs in a decade. Dude I could go on. Pre-2019 Hoan was high tier but people glorify him way too much. A master of technique certainly but lacking in a good many other regards. That's not top 3, 5 or 10 to me. That's incomplete.

His legs his beatkills and his musicality are off the charts. Now he is funky and groovy as well. So before 2019 i can agree with you. Lacking of soul and groove. But now he is not incomplete more. He is on a level i think no one can touch him more or lets say maybe just very few can. I hope we will see many more international events soon. Just to clarify the 2022 hoan seems to be unstoppable.

@@oleborn4426 I have to disagree also. Dont get me wrong, 2022 Hoan is looking to be dangerous. But definitely not "the best" Top 5 for sure, possibly top 3-4. But the best to ever do it? Nah. Not yet. Still too soon to say that. You need to realise the weight of that kind of title/label. "The best" shouldnt just be about who can get the most cheers, have the flashiest, most eye-candy moves or the most beatkill moments.. Thats not what dance is about

Whilst everyone has reached their peak... this guy just upped his game! He has worked on his musicality during the pandemic and he is easily the best popper on the planet. The only people I can see reaching that level is maybe Sharkbomb or Dokyun with their body type and musicality. Just needs to hit harder, evolve their current techniques and be cleaner. Most pro poppers that have dominated like kite, gucchon, greenteck and many OG have reached their limits with what their bodies, and muscles are capable of.
