Just ordered this rod today in 5"5. It will be on my ATV here in the mountains of VA. going for the trout. Will also go coast to coast on my motorcycle, catching and cooking trout along the way. I will never lift the weight as Fowlers Makers and Mischief did. Good to know I can if a big one bites.

Have been using it, caught 30+ fish (trout mainly) the only complaint I have is the rear two reel lock nuts need to be knurled. I've missed a few too many precise casts because my palm shifted from rain or sweating. I will put a ranger band on for grip. Love the rod and tight lines friends.

Glad you liked it we have actually added a plastic piece between the two binding nuts which really helps hold them in place

I really like this configuration. A lot of thought has been put into how you made this. I love the fact that there is a carry case. I would love to have one to carry in the saddle bags of my Harley. I am always on the look out for a place to fish and there have been many times I wish I had a pole on me.

Not to knock the product but adding 2-3 floating guides would help reduce stress on the sections.. also I would love to see a 7'6" light or ultra light model with 4 or 5 sections with extra floating guides on the sections (again to reduce stress on the rod itself).. the carry case would probably have to be extended a few inches to accommodate the extra length..I have a 7'6" kastking and enjoy it alot for crappie fishing and bream fishing..also have had some inferior telescopic rods that were not up to the grade.

I'm so glad we got to talk in email. This was a blessing. I'll use it then find it a good home with a special little fisherman. But before I do I want to order me one which I may give the new one away but I want to get the 6 and half foot rod prob. But I'm gonna talk to few friends to see if they want one. But I love it. Now got 2 nice rods but I need to get me one more bag. I love this one. But I love these small rods and I'm gonna find me one that holds few in the bag and few reels. I don't no if you watched catfish and carp. He buys these rods but like 9ft for carp fishing so there little longer. I want to get me few for bigger fish. That way I got the small ones then get 2 bigger ones. Then I'll be set for brim crappie bass carp catfish. So I'll be set for every thing. Any reel will work. The ones we have are nice but and 1000 to 4000 reel works well. Make sure it has a collapsible handle

Exactly what I was thinking Orlando. This looks like a REAL fishing setup that I could put in a pannier hard case. The only other thing that I could think of using on a moto camping trip was the Ronco Pocket Fisherman. Which looks like junk but you have to think of weight and volume on a motorcycle

Not as compact and the "Pocket Fisherman" BUT it is and actual fishing pole and reel. Although the videos that I have seen on youtube say you can really caught with the Ronco. It just LOOKS like a toy to me. But being on a motorcycle my priorities are # Weight. #2 Size/volume.#3 usefulness for its purpose. This rod and reel *looks* a lot more useful at catching fish then the Ronco but sacrifices size.

Omg how much did these things go for and only 4 guides? thats really skimpy dude.. you can buy of better quality on aliexpress for bout 20 bucks or less shipped, i guess the hook is that custom travel case to keep things neat and tidy. Oh shnapp just saw the price.. $135.99!! shame on you hahaha.. even the shimano STC line Ref# STCMTS18ML 6.0ft with 8 guides is 75usd, includes a nice travel case for rod and reel and packs down to 12inch

R.K if you want a strong travel rod get the 4 pc ugly stik or the 5pc kastking brutus All telescopic rods break even the 300 dollar japanese brands but if you want to try that route go on ali express and get a kasking or piscifun or sougaylang ( bigger fish bigger rod) none of them will be as strong or have the feel of a 4-5 pc rod. If you dont care about rod feel and you just want strength ease of use and portability you can try an Emmrod its all metal and packs real snall

I don't think I'll go with emmrod it looks like it's hard to use also its expensive about $300 Australian also there aren't many guides on the rod so therefore it will wear out the line much faster. I like the ugly stik 4pcs GX2 I found it on Costco Australia for $79 with the reel. A guy who did a video on this rod it took about 40 KILOS to make it break that's crazy! But people are having problems taking apart the 4 pcs. What do you think? Do you think there's better version of the ugly stik than the gx2? Also what do you think about the reel that comes with it is it good or should i buy another reel? Thanks for letting me know about the telescopic rods I'm going to return mine since they are so easy to break when catching medium-big size fish
